So bittersweet to watch this video, so hard to lose this treasure and soul sister. In the first few photos, which are of the original Entropy Service quartet, the band was made up of Linda, myself (Judith/Judy Cook, now Judith Cook Tucker), Peter Langston and JB White. Thank you for creating this memoriam.

Thanks for your comments, Judith. I met Linda when she was recording her first solo album and never had the pleasure of seeing Entropy Service perform. Judging from the set list I've seen of the Boston-based edition of the band when Sharyle Patton was a member, I'm sure I would have loved the eclectic mix of material.

@@NostalgicWallow We called it "Music from the 20s through the 80s" because we did everything from swing to bluegrass to originals and the 80s felt like they were very far away!

I met Linda when she was playing as a duo with Scott Nygaard. "Everything Looks Different" I think was the first song by her that I heard. Her songs, especially that one, had such a magical unique quality. There's a sense of simplicity in her music, which is not at all simplistic. Most of all a sense of incredible gentleness came from her music, and herself. I happened to meet John Mellencamp three years later. He was my favorite pop//rock performer of that time, because I felt he too had something unique and genuine about his music and personality. I gave Mellencamp a copy of the album "Everything Looks Different" and told him that Linda was my favorite contemporary songwriter. So, for what it's worth, and I'm not sure he listened to the record or how much of it he may have listened to, at least Mellencamp had heard of Waterfall. I was able to exchange a couple e-mails with Linda 8 years ago. I think I always hoped I'd get to talk more with her one day, and today I am made aware that this will not be possible. It is a sad fact to have to absorb. I still believe her songwriting is something special, which perhaps even she herself did not fully recognize the unique artistic worth of. Maybe posterity may view her as much more significant than she was viewed in her own time. That sometimes happens, like for instance with Van Gogh. I truly cannot think of a better songwriter.

Thank you for this video tribute. I LOVED Linda's music, esp. that on "Body English". I got to meet her and talk with her for about 30 min before a gig she had in New Haven CT @2013-4 (?). She was so nice, so intelligent, so everything-good.
