The payments your referring to are related to the transfers if Willian and eto from anzhi back in 2012 way before ffp so what you're saying is absolutely irrelevant to ffp city essentially cooked to books to get around ffp. Chelsea self reported under the table payments made by roman abramovich 15 years ago nearly at this point and uefa and the Premier league knew nothing about the payments either which is why Chelsea won't be punished. In addition there should be greater scrutiny on those that buy Clubs, I feel multi ownership models are also a ticking time bomb and will destroy the game in years to come. This isn't as simple as saying "get rid", there has to be defined principles agreed upon on about what is good for the game world wide (a small club in a multi club is used solely as a vehicle to dump all the lose ends etc what do their supporters think of their billionaire owners holding them back this way? etc etc etc etc.....

You can forget about Guehi for at least this window, fella. Palace aren't that little south London that needs your money. That's not to say that we're in a position that we won't have to sell regrettably at some point when a massive club comes in for our players and that player wants to move. As you are aware, Palace almost went under in 2010, as Chelsea almost did in the 80s and 90s. If not for having Roman's unlimited oligarch money obtained when the Soviet Union collapsed by questionable means, and one of Putin's inner circle lapdog buddies, Chelsea wouldn't remotely be where they are, fact. Don't get me wrong, we would have been singing in the streets if he had invested in us at the time. Guehi will regrettably go in the summer, most likely, to whom and where will be down to Palace and the player, not because Chelsea want him, as so do a few others that can afford him!!

The Football logic Eddie was talking about is keeping your young players who are most likely to go on and be first team regulars but we cant do that as we had to sell them. i.e. you keep your best players but PSR forces business logic to come to the fore and you have to sell your best or up and coming assets to maintain progress. The amount of spending that is down is a biased quotation to some extent because you had Chelsea spend an unprecedented amount of money in a very short time period. It wasn't sustainable to think they would keep spending like that and I would be surprised if they had an intention to even without PSR. I think the idea of the financial or business priorities taking over is an excellent one. The fact that the biggest clubs just expect owners to cover the shortfalls of failure is mindboggling. Teams wouldn't have last over a hundred years if that was the case. United are proof that you can't buy your way out of stupid decision making. Clubs sack coaches far quicker than they sack the business people who make horrible decisions.

I’m amazed Simon doesn’t understand that what PSR does is stop hyper inflation that WOULD happen if you allowed clubs to spend whatever they wanted, because it would drive up the costs for EVERYONE. If you have players going to Newcastle (if it PSR DIDNT exist) and the unlimited funds for wages they could offer, any player that wanted a raise would say @well I can get “x” at Newcastle so pay me 75% to stay here! When Chelsea started they did exactly this and drove wages up across the entire sport. If you let the reigns off and had the nation owned states go into a bidding war we would have the same thing again only tenfold , the decimation would lead to a complete monopoly at the very top(and likely only by the few clubs owned by countries and no one else ever be able to compete again with them unless they were sold to that level of money.
