Seems like a waste of a premium. They just released the Sanzang which will rip these planes to shreds. In a direct matchup the Russian CV is completely screwed.

Like some others have pointed out, it's basically a T8 Kaga. The fighter wings might as well not exist.

The planes did give off Tone vibes, but at least Tone had Tier V planes. The fighters are indeed abysmal, and the HP pool of the planes. I'd still like to try the Chkalov, and then the CV line coming in March. I do wonder how they are going to be

Granted there's a bit of an art to it which takes practice to develop, but instead of scouting and dying the fighters would be better used trying to bait enemy fighters. You really can't get your fighters anywhere near the AA bubble of an opposing ship because they'll vanish in a puff.

In something that has two torpedo wings to manage, I'll be hard pressed to even remember where the fighters went. Yes, it's been a bit tongue-in-cheek, but my point is that as a not-so-skilled player, you're probably better off pretending you don't have any fighters, and just pretend you're in a T8 Kaga.

For your answer at 4:35, the penalty for most Aircraft Carriers is 2 seconds per plane. So with that 50%, its literally 1 second faster.

not so much. example 4 seconds prep time, 4 planes in squadron: 4*4=16 (normal preptime). x2 when everything shot down. so its 16+16=32 seconds prep time. with this skill you would get 16+16/2=24 seconds

Actually, my answer above is wrong. After testing and finding the actual formula, if you lost all your planes, the preparation punish multiplies the preparation time by 2. So, if you return your torpedo bomber planes or use them without losing all planes, the reload time will be 25.2s. (Prep time * Amount of Torpedo planes per squadron) If you do lose all of them, the typical reload time would have been 50.4s. However, with the specialty, it does go down to 37.8s. Normal Formula: Prep Time * (Amount of planes per squadron * if squadron eliminated, then multiply by 2) = reload time With Flight Deck Scheduling Optimization: Prep Time * (Amount of planes per squadron * if squadron eliminated, then multiply by 1.5) = reload time

thank god they buff repunish time to 3.8 per plane after skill+equipment. so its gonna take 22.8 sec if some comeback and 34 sec if they wipe out.

Looks like a Soviet version of Kaga to me, which the plane were all tier 5, with no fighter, win by quantity. Only this Chkalov with tier 4 plane, for bombers mostly

I disagree. Because the main damage source is torpedo bombers and the fact that you have to cope with low quality planes and no fighters, I believe the Soviet carriers require skill.

4:32 großer Quatsch. Lass mich dich (und andere) mal aufklären: die Vorbereitungszeit ist normalerweise die Anzahl der Flieger in der Staffel x Vorbereitungszeit. Wenn die Staffel vollständig (vollständig, 1 Flieger auf 1 HP geht noch) abgeschossen wird, wird diese Zeit verdoppelt. (unrealistisches) Beispiel: 4 Sekunden Vorbereitungszeit und 4 Flieger in der Staffel. Normale Vorbereitungszeit ist dann 16 Sekunden. Verliert die Staffel Flugzeuge, bleibt es bei 16 Sekunden. Erst wenn ALLE Flugzeuge abgeschossen wurden, wird die Zeit verdoppelt, in diesem Beispiel dann auf 32 Sekunden. Mit diesem Skill wird diese Zusätzliche Zeit halbiert. Also 16 (ursprüngliche Zeit) + 8 Sekunden ( Penalt x 50% ) = 32 Sekunden. Der Penalty besteht noch, ist aber deutlich weniger. Das ganze existiert vermutlich, damit Leute sich nicht die Flugzeit sparen, indem sie die Staffel „Opfern“. Auf dem sovietischen CV gibts aus gegeben Gründen (wenig HP auf den Fliegern) jetzt halt diesen Skill

Das macht CVs mit kleinen Staffel immer stärke als CVs mit großem Staffel, weil die Vorbereitung parallel läuft. Deshalb (unter anderem) sind Haku und Malta auf T10 so stark

Hi Terry, my comments is just about the ship itself, it is neither about the video quality nor it is about your gameplay in a cv 😊 I think I will just save my money and my time again. 😊 Ported premium and tech tree lines that lacked their original proprietary mechanics that made them great in the pc version are just flat out not worth the time, efforts, and money to get at all. I am not going to allocate ~30 million silver + grind time to get the t10 version ever again. Never. I sold that MvR, and return to my old hakuryu, never having any 2nd thoughts ever since. If I want an all in strike aircraft carrier, theres nothing better than the Kaga with her 9 tailed fox camo paint. Period. Hell, I would even buy a Tone first before I considered giving out money to this soviet 'premium' cv. God forbid if it is going to be released in a gamble box with multiple other ships to boot! 😂 A t8 platform which carries t4 planes 🙄. The 2 gameplay samples in the video both had t7-t8 ship pools. The heaviest AA platform was just 1 north carolina b o t in the 2nd game. There was not any t9 ships involved yet, and the t8 oppositions did not have any clevelands / dzps / massachusetts. My only 1 positive comment about the ship is the torpedo speed. It seems the torpedoes travel much faster than malta's torpedoes. But nice entertaining video nonetheless, Terry! 👍 Cheers!

As much as it pains me, it's not a simulator - game mechanics trump accuracy in that regard. I found the trop of "Soviet human wave attack" a little lame, though. Curious how the actual tech tree line is going to be - premiums aren't always representative. Look at the German CVs. So there might still be actually capable planes coming.

Meine Meinung zu dem Ding: Eher mäßig gut, wenn nicht schlecht. Die Flieger machen nicht viel Schaden und man ist für seinen Schaden recht RNG und MM (voll mit Amis und so wäre schlecht) abhängig. Zwei Dinge, bei denen ich immer Pech habe. Des weiteren sind die Jäger absolute Scheiße (wenn das überhaupt noch ein Ausdruck dafür ist). Wenn man mit einem CV ausgewählt auf Zufallsgefecht drückt, dann garantiert man seinem Team, dass das Gegnerteam einen CV hat. Da Flaschiffe MM abhängig sind, solltest du im ersten Moment darauf eingestellt sein, dein Team vor dem Gegnerischen CV verteidigen zu können. Das ist eine deiner Hauptaufgaben. Weil man das mit Jägern am besten kann (die sind halt flexibler als Flaschiffe). Das kann dieses Schiff gar nicht, wie die Kaga. Lediglich idiotenfreundlich. Nur halt, dass T8 sehr competetive ist, anders als T7, und CVs auf T8 sehr viel ausmachen (anders als auf T7). Einer Kaga auf T7 kann man den Schmeiß Flieger aufs Problem und guck ob was passiert Style noch halbwegs verzeihen, dem Ding nicht. Auf T10 sind auch sehr viele gute Spieler und viele CVs mit guten Jägern. Da kann man dann schnell auch mal gar nichts mehr leisten. Das Ding ist ein kostenloser Klarer Himmel/clear skies fürs gegnerteam in den meisten fällen. wird definitiv nicht mein lieblings CV werden

Ich denke, für jemanden, der regelmäßig Träger spielt, ist das vielleicht nicht das richtige Schiff. Geschick wird nicht wirklich belohnt, aber für Gelegenheitsspieler ist es vielleicht gar nicht schlecht, denn der Mangel an Geschick wird auch nicht wirklich bestraft 😜

Yeah, pretty good comparison. Might as well not have fighters, but you get to throw a lot of planes at the enemy rapidly. I haven't tested against monsters like the Chinese CV though, might de-plane this thing rather quickly.

Thanks! I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed this ship, which is probably down to the fact that I actually _can't_ play CV well - I think a better player would probably have been cursing the fighters, and lamenting the fact that even ships with mediocre AA shoot half their wings down.
