A new, premium Italian battleship needs to have some tricks up its sleeve to compete with the still very powerful tech-tree line. Let's see what the "throw all the skills into a hat and draw three"-method of recent designs has brought up.

SAP secondary auto guns not very effective against enemy battleships and heavy cruisers obviously...

She lacks the precise aim / rapid reload of the Marco Polo to be effective against battleships, so yes, the secondaries are only really useful against DDs, but then what's the point, just get Lepanto and blap DDs with your mains, while also enjoying powerful AP against everything else 😁

Oh even raised it probably blows the float plan off the stern, probably could set the stern on fire too, good thing the blast would also put the fire out. Float plan is supposed to be stowed away or launched during combat. The turret would be elevated to help “over the shoulder” firing solutions.

That's a hard call. At mid-tier, Nürnberg definitely, Cleveland, Des Moines, Hindenburg and of course Mino. Soviet CLs are pretty good as well. I'd say I like most cruisers except for the super-heavies that handle like BBs but with neither the firepower nor the armour.

You should be able to change the secondary battery ammo type from SAP to HE like some other BBs. I think that would make a lil difference. By WG putting this ship in as a brawler with SAP only secondaries, needless to say they missed their mark in my opinion anyway. 👎👎👎 I'll stick with Lepanto, I think it's a better ship and it's FREE 💯💯💯

I watched pig base video on the Verde, and the main guns work really well if you turn off the auto aim. I wish I could get the Marco Polo instead of this, because I was really looking forward to the ship

I'm seeing the "disable lock-on" theme more and more with BBs. It's not just those specifically, but I find it hard to track moving targets on a mobile. Maybe just something to get used to in general, right now, it seems more of a "you need additional skills to make this ship work" sort of thing. That said, the main guns are about what I'd expect from 406mm at this tier, but this is set up around the secondary SAP gimmick, and that's where I struggle to make it work on a BB this size.

If there's one I'd be keen to get my hands on, it would be Bourgogne. That thing is just glorious. But it depends a lot on how you like to play.

Who at WG is designing ships? They haven't put out anything really good premium battleship in awhile. Just do a Roma copy at tier 10 with 406's and give it the the right buffs.

It felt a lot like "throw a bunch of skills in a hat, and draw some at random" of sorts. We've seen with ships like Bourgogne that even lower-calibre guns can be made to work at high tiers with the right skillset. I'd totally see a T10 Super-Roma with 406, RR & PA. Even a brawler-setup could work - give her AP 150s, secondary overload and maybe PA. As it stands, the low-pen SAP secondaries are directly running counter to the intended purpose.

@Fun and games with Terry Yea the 406mm SAP is quite potent stuff. I'm working towards getting Luigi Sansonetti to the HESAP unique skill to make it penetrate 15% better it'll be a monster then for sure.

@Fun and games with Terry Also I implore you to review the Napoli and the Marlborough again. Napoli got a lot of buffs and still has the same concealment as before, but her secondaries got longer range, she got Fuel Smoke 3 with no reduction in charges, and her torpedo reload speed was decreased as well as the damage I believe getting buffed too. The Marlborough got proper KGV or better HE rounds and her turrets abysmal rotation speed was buffed to a more standard 5 degrees a second

Oh, I didn't see that, curious that KZbin content ID didn't show. Generally, I disable the "clipping" feature, so random folks don't get to turn stuff into shorts. This is a nice, fan-made video, with attribution, so I totally don't mind. In fact, if anyone asks, I'm happy to share raw footage if I still have it around.
