Mate I'm seeing a ton of same combos spammed over and over, I know your onto this 'stylish' thing which if your interested I'd say check out DMC, it's a pretty sick game with tonsa combos even though real different than something like Yakuza, I think you can do more different stuff back to back along with heat action uses and maybe stuff other people could learn as interesting combinations. I just noticed watching it but yeah that's all

No shit!! That is the main reason I am bashing Yakuza 5's combat. It has little to NO combo mechanics, and what you saw in this video is RARE for a Yakuza 5 video, considering 99% of the videos are finishing hold spams, triangle kick wall spams and other lame stuff, not because the players are bad but because the game doesn't have any ways to do combos, aside from what you've seen in this video. As for DMC, I am aware of it, and I might try it one day.

@@GUNKSHOTT I think you could try DMC even though the two games are real different, it'd be an experience at the very least. And to say you may have a small point but I disagree in 5 having little to no combo variety. I think the parry are pretty good little side stuff to use which you made fine use of, but Kiryu has a ton of combos, same as 1-4 with even newer ones I believe, each one has a specific finisher with the circle not eating up your heat now, I think this is a more safe approach for no damage you did here, but experimenting different stuff could work, you can check more abilities or learn a few tricks which I may not even be aware of. In no damage, edgeofmyseat did pretty good stuff if you don't count Watase as he says he uses a cycle of spam and same combos, his playthroughs are more into strategy but he's one of the popular Y5 no damagers out there. Keep in mind Kiryu can extend the time for combos, you could parry them and just when them stars are gone you could finish up a combo which could look cool. And this is just Kiryu, wait until you get to play Saejima, he's a damn beast.

@@DCromBP Just played through the climax battles again on Kiryu, it's the same as 1-4 just as I mentioned. Blocking a lot is only a boss battle thing so you'll have to work your way cleverly around different combinations, the game really gives you a ton to work with so it's not too unfair. I used to think it was just blocking all over again and hitting when you managed to just get them, but use the parry and manage to get a full combo with throwing the enemy in the end and it's a game of fully working out the patterns of your enemy and using the tools given to you, checking out what moves make said boss weak and it kinda makes the game a pretty good one in the series if not the best after 0. It's not too different from the older games, so it's kinda pointless how you ask me the variety if you played anything through the PS2 1&2 to 3 and 4.

@@ashleyy69 Yeah I will try DMC one day, as I said. It doesn't seem like my type of game, as its a bit fiction-ish and reminds me of anime. As for the combat, all the sword slashing and crazy stuff seems alright but nothing to make me want to play the game now. As for Y5, I've said what I said. If you still think there are more ways to do combos, you're free to make a video of your own and reply here with it, I'll be happy to learn something from an experienced and professional player like yourself.
