Winter was me...I was Winter. A wonderful, inspirational movie. God bless all of you it took to create it! It's wonderful knowing I was not odd, useless. An artist, loner at heart, it took me years as a child of the 1960s to learn ways to adapt. There was no "title" for me, which was probably good at the time. I overcame my struggles as I lived, working hard, day after day, year after years. I bonded quickly with animals and old folks, but not so to my peers. Now, at 66 years old, I have accepted the way God made me, and am comfortable in my own skin. It just took me much longer to learn, to realize, my gifts, and my abilities and am at peace in my own skin. My heart is happy in my smaller than most friends circles. I love being surrounded by my children, my animals, and the woodland setting that gives me the serenity I need to thrive. Hope is eternal, thank God He has given us the ability to dream, to love and to hope. And thank you to the writer, the actors, producers...who shared Winter's story. God bless you one and all.

I have a daughter similar to this child, I worked hard at homeschooling her. I found it was best to give a list of things she wanted to learn. We both worked on the list, then we decided which ones she’d do. She could learn, but not retain it. Her reading skills were terrible when I pulled her out of school. We finally figured out a way she could keep the letters still, she began to read, it was amazing. She did well at math, but retention made multiplication an impossibility. At least additional and subtraction would work for bank account and living. She will always have problems, but, less the scars of public schools, and no medication side effects. So, there are difficulties with each case, but she is very creative, and I’m sure as she settles into her life, she’ll be fine.

Dyslexia is debilitating. ADD is debilitating. Together they are devastating. This was perfectly portrayed. Reading upside down helps.

I thought the Mom supported her art by having supplies ready so I was surprised when she apologized for not supporting her art at the end. It really made sense after that. We have to be humble and honest, the Mom did a great job showing reticence, that was enough, it was a subtle disapproval, kids need wholehearted approval and support, teens too, especially. Strange and wonderful film. Subdued. Lovely.

Great movie,,,our differences makes us special and unique for sure. Though Winter's parents failed to see this in her, thank God Siege her best friend never left her side since they were young up to the time they grew up into adults. Siege is such a special character to behold. We all in our lives need people like her. Someone who sees and believes the best out of others. In turn, Winter also turned out to be just that person. She was such a kind hearted personality who believed the best out of everyone despite their disabilities. ❤❤❤🎉

i noticed this happens between the people of 19s era that are now parent of this modernized generation, they wont understand you when you say that drawing or art is your dream. i knew i was right when i was younger, i'm an average student but i knew what's calling me, i knew my field but this caused alot of conflict between me and my mom. even till now i do tell myself instead of wasting years in university, i rather go to the school of my specialty, we are all brought up in lies for decades, a child with low intelligence and one that does not go to university have a disability. i love art so much but now dad is dead, mum is just struggling to survive with my siblings, no one to even share my dream with. if i can still realign to my dream pursuit i knew its the grace of God, life is more deeper than this movie, but big thanks to this movie atleast it will keep opening the eyes of our parent to pave way and support the children in making their dream becoming reality, no matter what it is, what joy is it if you spent your entire life in what you don't find joy in, it's not all about money.

My son was tortured by the public school system who intentionally hid his dyslexia. I finally took him to a doctor at 15 and then he was diagnosed. They actually blocked him from going to the best school in the country. The landmark school by creating red tape to make a long story short. He is a wonderful person and his crutch was sports. He is gifted in all sports thanks to God!

This is really a beautiful and touching movie. I have been living in great confusion about whom I am for about 30 years. It was not until last summer that I found myself with ASD and ADHD. I have always wished that I could get diagnosed as young as possible, while this movie shows me the life journey of a female with neurodiversity who does receive diagnosis at a young age. Even so, she still faces and undergoes lots of challenges and struggles. This helps me to get a deeper understanding that it's pointless to compare one's pain to another's. Instead, it would mean a lot to do whatever we can to help those in need and make their life a little bit easier, just like what Winter does for Magaret.

I feel like people are forgetting that this a very realistic movie. We complain about how the mother is, but this is a lot of people’s lives. Not just talking about the dyslexia. But even the people closest to you won’t understand you, life is very hard, and it can be very lonely. Especially when you don’t know the Lord and especially when you’re young and you care about what everyone thinks. This is a lot of people’s lives. People are crapping on the mother, but for goodness sake she found out her daughter had dyslexia and adhd, and can only read things upside down. That’s a very big deal, and we see how it working out when she gets her first 2 jobs. It’s very easy to zero on things what you cant do vs what you can. Her mother was only trying to prepare her for life ahead of her.

This movie was absolutely amazing! I loved it!🤩❤️ The storyline was so so beautiful ❤️ I really like the way the mum communicated with her daughter, right from when she was young. She spoke to her as a person, not just as a 'child'. The father was conspicuously absent in the child's life. Winter and Sage are really really beautiful, right from childhood till they grew up, and they had such a lovely friendship💫 Winter is such a loving soul, in and out❤

I cant quite put into words how unusual this mivie seemed to me and I think its because the father of winter was tirally nonexistant, therefore nonsuppirtive of his daughter while the mother also was nonexistent, emotiinally unavailable and titalky nonaporeviative ofvher daughters God given talent ^ the fact that she was " wured together" in her mind different ( genious ; increfibaly talented) than others! This movie was just Dead, without the natural supportuve ^ understanding parental roles that should always be there to support a child! I think this is why hardly anyone has vommented on it for these reasons! Most of our profound inventors & artists from ariund the world were just like Winter ; went thru umpteen peoples misjudgements of them before being given a chance & appreciated and hence changing our world forever! Thank God he makes us all different@

And we should know that God has given everyone , different talents ,and sometimes having academic studies can't lead in being successful in life ,we must bring up our children to be challenging and learn how to deal with life difficulties anyway, anywhere, anytime.bus the absence of father and her mother disability to support her daughter, had reduced the moral aspect of the film

To this day, I can read a great book, but can't remember the things that happened in the brook. I am not someone who can be employed at an important company with an important position because i'm not smart enough to have such important jobs, but I have found my passion and animal rescue and do home visits for potential clients as well as adoption events and fostering animals. We can't all be brainiacs but we all have our own special talents and I think winter would be an absolutely amazing artist.

Only really comfortable around animals and children . Highly perceptive and resourceful , great in an emergency but simple daily things are a massive challenge . was part diagnosed with dyslexia but did not have the finances to pay for the official expensive test so that I may access support and even if I had the funding , I struggle with navigating public transport , reading time tables etc which causes extreme anxiety and depression .
