Hey, I am pretty stoked with Douks U3! I have to admit my budget would make Billy the kid spit in anger so the U3 came at the right time. I got it on sale to, bonus! I am running a pair of Senhiesser 560s from the U3 that’s plugged into and Audioquest Red then to the PC. I switched out the op amp to a opa2134 and wow…to say the least. The opa2134 works really well in the U3 giving an easy fun engaging sound signature with a very slight warm tonality which is a good choice for solid state stuff like the U3. If you want a more analytical sound then I would recommend the opa1656. Excellent value. Thanks.

The douk is entirely class-a right? I have the older non tube version and that one is class-a and it sounds amazing i love and can't believe how cheap it is. I give it... 1% for sound quality 32% for looks because it's gold and everyone knows that gold is gud. 12% for build quality because the metal case protects it's internals during shipping. 0.0001% for price because it's not audiophile 90% for company name because although in China it's a normal word, here in America it's very close to the word doukie and that's in direct competition with schiit for best company name and that's always funny no matter how much wine you didn't drink yet. So final score is 95% because i enjoy how it sounds, and minus 5% off because i have to keep a t-shirt next to it to quickly cover it when my audiophile friends come over , can't have them knowing that i use it and love it.

I do not understand about 4:31 in where you are pointing at the inputs/outputs on this amplifier... What I see does not match up to what you are saying. I see RCA and 3.5mm inputs on the back. I see 6.35 and 3.5mm outputs on the front. I see a DC 5V barrel power jack on the rear. I see no USB ports anywhere. Are you saying the 3.5mm jack on the gold part is an input, not an output and there is a USB power connector on the rear somewhere? You are pointing at a 3.5mm jack when you say "USB for power only" and no part of that makes sense to me. Please clarify how this works. Thanks.

Can you explain what, if anything, I could use the 3.5mm output for on the front if I used the 3.5mm input in the rear and the 6.5mm output on the front for headphones? Could I use it as a pre-amp for a headphone amplifier? If so, would I have sound always coming from both the headphones and the speakers at the same time?

Yes, this whole product is designed in parallel, so it will output from both headphone jacks all the time. The volume doesn't control outputs, so you can't use it as a preamp. It's a pretty decent headphone amp, so if you're going to get a much better product one day, you won't be using this as a preamp into a better headphone amp. It's a cheap decent unit.

Funny thing is that Douk Audio contacted me asking me to take the video down because, in their words, "We've had dozens of reviews of this product and all have liked it." I wrote back - "So did I, what didn't you like about my video". They never responded, I think someone just saw the title and bitched. Now they're not even returning my emails about other products.
