Another epic episode Oisin. There were some really beautiful scenic high-def images in this episode...where the road seemed to go forever. You do such an amazing job of capturing the experience of motorcycling across Russia - as it really must have been. Great stuff. What an adventure!

Another great instalment. As with the other comments I've made - you separate yourself from so many others by really going into the detail of you feelings day to day - good & bad. You do a great job of just being real. I have enjoyed every post - including learning new terminology such as "ring of skiddies"...I'm a 2nd gen Canadian of Irish descent but thats one Granny never taught me!!! I look back at them often, especially in winter..like now, here in the frozen north. You probably have seen her, but there's a gal moto vloging for several years now, a good looking chick that has become very popular... she is actually a pretty good rider, but not nearly as hard core as the OIS. well.. I've seen the, all now... and it caused me to,re-watch .. "long way 'round"... which in all fairness.. makes me wonder to ask this question.. close to a decade apart .. in trips, thinking and tech ability.. would you,be able to say??? that for a person to attempt this.. (understanding, you had roughly the same ability, in protective weather gear,and ur cameras are better.. but you,had no support.. he had tons.. and you didn't have world acclaim, or his millions of $$$).. that the out come was " reasonably the same as a experience ??? in terms of tech ..is NO advantage here.. support means nothing (on some levels).. lonely or alone is the same when shit hits the fan.. no matter if your worth millions or you are Johnny average???? would you feel .. you could sit in a pub with Ewan, and have a beer.. and say.. yea... it really was tough.. it sucked.. or was great.. worlds apart in skills and having the ability to have learned from his mistakes... it made NO difference..

+roch daigle Tough question. I suppose the simple answer - I think anyone could do it. As long as you have time to go slow, and enough money to last you - you'll get it done. Dublin to New york was roughly 20000 miles or so - but remember only 20% of it is on dirt roads etc in the tough locations. So the rest of it - isn't that hard. You've just got to plan it really well. A lot of my problems were caused by poor planning - eg an extra week in Magadan due to poor timing with a ship. Not having a tube for the front tire - list goes on and on. The big thing for me is I don't regret a second of it. I loved it and would do it again no problem. At the drop of a hat. I do think having friends along the way helps - I think I would have had a better experience if I'd gone with friends - so in that sense - I think they probably had a better time. But the journey was just as tough. Just because you have more resources when the shit hits the fan, doesn't mean that every single day wasn't a struggle. So I think we'd enjoy that pint :-)
