I would love an under rated hoya video. Plants that I'm especially loving right now and think are under rated are African violets (if you find their happy place they'll bloom practically year round for you!...plus their fuzzy leaves are so cute) and hoya parasitica black margin...I got one not long ago for super cheap...it wasn't even on my radar but because of the price I got it and I have fallen in love with it! After acclimating it has really taken off growth wise...I love its black edges and it's an interestingly veiny leaf.

I love when my tineke is sunstressed and has pink on the leaves 😍 I got it for $6 at the grocery store. I would add the manjula pothos to the just if underappreciated plants. The variegation on the leaves is so beautiful. Each one looks like a painting. I paid $4 for mine from home Depot last year on clearance.

Oh man, I'm so glad you mentioned your Ficus triangularis variegata. It is so perfect; I didn't think it was real! I have one but can't crack the code on it. It keeps dropping leaves. It's outside now, fingers crossed... I also have a rock fig Ficus that hadn't grown and is a spider mite magnet so it's outside too and already gave me three leaves. 👍 I've admired the elasticas but have been afraid to get one because my experience with the other Ficus. Sounds like I've been afraid for no reason. And I have to have that skull/rhip combo! Love LOVE it! 💀💚 Have a great trip!

Rhipsalis are completely underrated. I have a R. Paradoxa and eight others. My cat also destroyed my Paradoxa which is now half its former self. Three branches are about two and a half feet long but another two were destroyed. Time to take cuttings. My favorite is R. Rhombea which has clades that look leaves and sunstresses purple but they're all great. Nice video, have just discovered that the bright pink aglaonema will remain pink in bright light. I liked the sectoral variegation in the agaonema you showed.

One of my favourite plants is my Aglaonema Pink Dalmatian (I think.. it was a free birthday gift from a Canadian website I ordered other plants from) … it’s sooooo cute and has both a dark hot pink, and lighter shades of pink on some leaves 🥰🥰🥰 I have to agree they’re underrated! So many adorable varieties ❤️

I have 2 tineke, along with burgundy, ruby, altissima, audrey, shivereana"moonshine", an triangularis. Love all of them. Cept triangularis. 🤣🤣 dnt NOT like it, it just grows weird an drops leaves if I even look at it!!!! I have the reg million hearts. I totally agree with u. It's so small and adorable. Can't wait for it to get bigger and trail.

I have the Hoya fungii that I got as a unrooted two leaf cutting. It’s about four years old now and the blooms are amazing, the peduncle is really big I wish I could show you mine it’s blooming right now. If you repot yours put a trellis in it instead of hanging and it will make it bloom. I also have both those ripsalis they are my favorites i also have the ficus teniki and the dischidia million bells both variegated and just green ones. The only one I don’t have you showed is the aglonema I kill those! 😂 been here for quite awhile but don’t comment often.

How about Ficus Deltoidea? I want to have this plant but it I have difficulty growing it. I’ve lost count in the # I’ve bought and killed. Also- so glad you mentioned Hoya fungi. I just picked one up from Paul and Sandy’s and it was so reasonably priced. Rotted my paradoxa but will get another. Dischidia ruscifolia variegata I rotted after having it for years! 😢 I’m rooting a tiny piece I saved. Agree with you about all of these being underrated!

How much light do ficus need? I have limited grow light space. I do have bright shade outside but it's going to be between 99-110+ every day until October or November. I love aglaonema and want more. My sparkling Sarah is putting out leaves like crazy along with a wide what I'm assuming is going to be either a branch or a very large leaf. I still haven't gotten into hoya. I don't have bright, natural light or room for a cabinet. The hoya you showed today is a beauty. Rhipsalis are cool plants. It kind of reminds me of my kalanchoe uniflora.

I love my ficus teneke too! I purchased mine pre pandemic as well and I had it in the low light environment almost all the leaves dropped. Once I realized brightl8ght is what they need It was on and poppin after that. ❤

I just started watching, so I don't even know yet what you're going to say, but I don't think Ctenanthe gets enough love. In my conditions, it is a really EASY prayer plant that grows beautifully and is also easy to propagate and share. I have two varieties and prefer them over most of my other prayer plants.

9:29 In case you didn’t know, pothos plants are natural climbers. In their natural habitat, they climb up trees with aerial roots like monsteras. In the wild when they are allowed to climb trees, they get huge, monstera sized leaves, even getting some fenestrations. Obviously, it would be very hard to fit a tree tall enough to get your pothos to grow those enormous leaves in your apartment / house, but you can imitate the effect climbing trees has on pothos in your home by giving it a plank / moss pole / branch to climb. Trust me, it’ll make your pothos happier than it has ever been before. If you don’t believe me, look up images of wild pothos on Google.

I think kalanchoe are underrated. I know they're toxic like a lot of houseplants. They're one of the few plants that I have that can live inside under grow lights like my uniflora and flapjack as well as take the hot Arizona summer sun like my mother of thousands. It gets red/pink sun-stressing like a lot of succulents but they thrive and bloom in Tucson. I like jade plants/crassula in general as well. I have a few outside getting morning sun and afternoon shade thanks to my giant asparagus fern that has become a shrub. It's the only "fern" I can keep alive. It fits into AZ just fine too, it has some fairly large and sharp thorns. Your hair still looks great! Red faded so fast for me when I tried it.

The rhipsalis paradoxa is my next plant, I love the look and how it grows - super underrated indeed and really attainable I started my plant collection with orchids (which I grew all the time in Florida with no issues but they all died when I moved to Georgia) so I'm on the look out for a phalaenopsis gigabell On the more expensive side, wishlist plant anthurium ace of spades or an anthurium king of spades
