Serpent is great on sivir since there are so many shields everywhere and it procs on w, combine it with ldr and you completely shred I'm a Sivir otp that really likes garen so that's why (didn't even notice I'm still subbed lol)

I rush Serpent's Fang as the first item against Ambessa and it's insanely good. As Ambessa most likely building Eclipse as her first item and Eclipse only costs 2900 which is very cheap and let Ambessa reach her powerspike so fast. Stridebreaker costs 3300 which is way more expensive than Eclipse that's mean Garen most likely will reach his powerspike later than Ambessa and need to suffer for a bit of time until Garen got his Stridebreaker. But by building serpent as the first item, it's cheap , good damage and a good counter item against Ambessa's kit (Broken shield from her W and Eclipse). Everyone should try this when you laning against Ambessa as Garen, this is really good!
