We have been playing and testing all healers on the War Within Beta server and we are concerned with the healer changes or lack thereof. The damage we take still seems over-tuned to the point where we don’t know if the changes the developers made, are going to happen before Season 1.

⚠UPDATES!!! A bunch of buffs to healers have just been announced AFTER we recorded this video, nothing crazy, but goes into their philosophy of making healing more important. HOWEVER we have no news about ENCOUNTER tuning that does a lot of damage to people, so not sure how much we actually moved into their ideal direction!⚠

Overall I think these Philosophy/Design changes are bad for everyone's "Fun" and miss the mark entirely in regards to the goal of giving Healers more Agency. I have long been a staunch advocate of giving Healers more Damage, more Utility, less responsibility for the Group's survival, and making them both go OOM and regenerate Mana more dynamically. But personally, I am lowkey actually kind of excited about the recent huge Tank changes and these brutally hard Dungeons, because they are a significant Buff to my preferred playstyle and increase my value to a Group. You didn't hear it from me, but invest in Prot Paladin stonks. (But also, FOTM ReRolling to Prot Pally is a bad idea, cause it's an extremely high-skill-ceiling Spec that is very punishing of imperfect play.)

@@Defect3401 if you check they have only nerfed their self healing but for ex the dk can still sustain itself well, but they buffed the passive armor and/or armor skills by a lot

The hard hitting consistent damage should be on the tanks. DPS really should take slight radial damage OR heavy punishing damage if they ignore mechanics. Having mechanics where a DPS just dies because a mob decided to do a mechanic with little counterplay, like an uninterruptible or instant cast is just not fun. It should also get to a point where a geared tank AND healer combo can focus more on their damage output for speeding through content, without either of them invalidating the purpose of the other.

Tanks with a lot of health but little mitigation means a lot more healing from the healer, not less time spent on them. We're going to have paper tanks but with a lot of health

@1:21 LMAO! Leading with that Clip is already hilarious, but the little Mario *pings* had me dying! As the Tank in this Clip I approve of this message (but only because you showed me dying while I was doing good Healing too lol). Trash Mob damage feels just as spiky to me as it did in early Dragonflight Ruby Life Pool Keys, BUT the Bosses are WAY COOLER in terms of Triage Healing/Damage-Intake; the last Boss of Dawnbreaker is straight up amazing and reminds me a ton of Healing Heroic 10-man Anub'Arak in OG WotLK - SO MUCH ROT DAMAGE.

The healers or the tanks ARE NOT the problem. It's the overwhelming amount of mechanics in each trash pull. They buffed single target heals? In what universe is a healer going to be able to stand there and hard cast these spells when the entire dungeon is lit up by swirlies? The devs are mind boggling stupid sometimes.

i really like your discussion formats with 2 ppl engaging. and that you keep it down to earth without putting too much of a focus on perfection, but instead making fun of mistakes, letting it flow kinda naturally etc. it's very sympathetic 👍

There is vey simple solution to tuning in the entire WOW universe-they should not tune the healing, defensives and damage of every class for every type of endgame (m+, raid, pvp etc.), but to make general tuning and give different buffs (in form of some general wow lore blessings) players can choose at the start of every endgame mode (for example +25% healing for healers at the start of m+, +12% dodge/armor for tanks etc. but the players to be able to choose one buff from set of few buffs). Because it is impossible to tune all classes from the talents tree for every possible endgame scenario and in this way they create very very stu**d situations.

I would like to see more of the burst damage turned into a few second dot. You could still have burst damage if it fits but not punish a healer for dps standing in bs.

I've played primarily heals and tanks since vanilla, and ever since Blizzard changed to the mindset many expansions ago where they felt like they didn't want mana management to be a big concern, I feel like they've really struggled with managing damage profiles in various content. I 100% agree with a point you alluded to early in this video -- it always feels like Blizzard takes a sort of "shortcut" route to trying to tweak healing %s / cooldowns to fix the issue rather than fixing the damage profiles because, seemingly, it's just easier to push some class tunning rather than review the damage calculations of every enemy in all the currently active content. Not only does that approach feel like the wrong choice to begin with, it just doesn't work with their modern era where their design team is obsessed with squeezing in the maximum number of mechanics into every encounter possible. If Blizzard already has X number of burst damage moments intended for your tank and you have that same X number of healing CDs, then a single DPS makes a mistake and needs you to use one of those CDs to save them, you can wind up in a situation in higher keys where you feel suddenly behind the curve for the rest of the fight and doing everything desperately possible to keep people even at 50%. It crosses the line from feeling challenging to constantly feeling miserably stressful, at least for me.

I'd like there to be more deliberate mechanics for the healers in the content so the challange can be more focused on understanding mechanics and choosing how to deal with them rather than this, just covering for the rest of the partys mistakes with reaction time healing.

I have been playing as a DPS since forever (fire mage ftw, btw) and now that I decided to commit to healing, It gets changed. I feel like getting the short end of the stick. Still, my new main will be a Mistweaver monk from here onward

Tank should take much damage. Healers should be kept busy healing tank and tank should be kept busy using his/her defensives. DPS should be kept busy interrupting, and dodge mechanics. And be punished if not. A constant incoming dot that messes with whole team and can't be dealt with is NOT the way to keep healers busy in a fun way and not the way to make the dps better players.

I think letting everyone self sustain was alright, they just dropped the ball on advancing healing class' rotations to match M+ mechanics. If healers don't have to save people, they should at least be able to buff them directly (Mercy OW), have the only battle rez, and be able to make pick up buffs.

tank/damage healing changes suck! (proceeds to show footage of people getting snapped left and right while DPS is not interrupting and stand in crap as usual) :D with playerbase like this no change except absolute faceroll soloable dungeons will work and even then people would moan and whine I have been healing for almost 20 years and honestly we, the healers, will adapt and playerbase will have to adapt as well. Same with tank changes that were announced recently. Been there, done that, its all fine. Everything will be better than DF healing. In a holy trinity world you cant make one role faceroll easy because other roles will suffer, all crybabies should understand that.

they trying to make healing not a sporadic thing. And watching this clip early on in your video i also believe blizz are NOT delivering. Ppl loosing 1/3 of their health on what seems to be trash packs. tank got litterly 3shot even while recieveing heal etc. Biggest problem is that it seems that no blizz dev tests their own game. They litterly press numbers. send to PTR/Beta and hope for the best.
