Couple of years ago Marc at Long Island, responding to a comment, said there was no point trying to show tritium in videos because it barely glowed enough to show up on screen. This was a week after I’d been showing everyone an awesome photo of my incredibly brightly lumed tritium watch taken with just a lousy phone camera. I’ve said for years that tritium annihilates all other lume but no one ever listened. Well done for finally capturing it on KZbin! cough cough Jody!!

The Tritium tube's color is key to how its perceived brightness is. I have the Isobrite 350 with the green tritium tubes for everything but the 12 o'clock marker. I purchased an Isobrite Afterburner Blue with blue tubes that are doubled up at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 markers. I returned the Blue as the blue tubes were not even close to being as bright as the green tubes even when the blue tubes were doubled up and brand new. As Kermit says "Always go green!"

Great review! Thanks. I liked the way you did the lume comparison as it is very hard to capture tritium. I have a Ball watch and once you're used to the reduced but much longer and constant glow it's a nice feature. Tho my Omega X-33 Skywalker glows all night if charged before going to bed. But then it's a different price point! I've been considering whether to buy one of these Aquatico watches for some time. It's a nice package especially if you bump it up to the Sellita movement and the latest versions have date windows too.

The bronze and green with the suede strap really compliment each other. The watch has a touch of "Steampunk" about it particularly with the Tritium tubes and square bronze "depth guage" feel.. An interesting alternative look when there are a lot of submariner homage to be found. My only concern is that the corners would accumulate dust and fibres ( First World Problem I know right??!!)

Have a degree in fine/visual arts from many moons ago so unique design, executions, case builds etc. I happen to find it quite appealing, just as much as I appreciate traditional classic builds. This Aquatico offering is no exception...The Lytt Labs inception prodigy you previously reviewed falls into a similar spectrum for me. Would like to add both to the collection.

I've seen some cress watches on Aliexpress that have Tritium. Also, Marathon makes tritium field watches for the military that are also available to the public. Ball is perhaps most famous for their tritium watches and those have a bit of a field watch asthetic.

Never heard of it but I love this watch now that it was brought to my attention thanks I love the shape the color green is my favorite not much of a fan of blue the fact that its tritium everything except the size although I know I could pull it off it seems just too bulky & clunky & heavy quite another tank of a watch

I looked up why bronze is preferred in dive watches, turns out it's more resistant to seawater than stainless steel... metal parts of boats that are under the waterline are also made from different bronze-based alloys.

I got a tritium watch a year ago for $100. (Carnival with swiss quartz movement, day date, 30m, white dial, 24 hr,mineral crystal) i love the lume!!! It isnt much but the transition from day to night you can always see the time! And i think it looks great!

Excellent spec and price, except would want a better movement tbh, (tho understand why,) and the style is very divisive and not to my taste.. 1000m is pointless 200m is far more than sufficient. Cheers 👍🏻

Yeah, it has a 25 year half life. So in 25 years it will be half as bright.

Been eyeing this watch some time as it has some Bell & Ross genetics and is square (hey, I got way too many round watches). The 20 yrs you quote is for regular T25 on most watches. In 20 yrs it will be half as bright as it is now. So T100 in 20 yrs, will be still brighter than T25, which is great. But not inclined to pull the trigger yet on... Good to see this review: still not decided on this.

Zelos is working on one. It's really tricky because bronze turns skin green. So Zelos is doing a two layer bracelet, steel on the bottom, bronze on top. And it's going to be expensive because of the manufacturing.

I'm pretty sure most professional scuba divers don't go even close to 100 meters deep much less 1000 meters. Once you get past around 300m of water resistance it's more about showing off your engineering prowess than actually producing something needed.
