This interview was very…Prince like. Kendrick is a guru in this interview; a teacher. It’s as much a piece of art as it is journalism.
@GhostofKaiser
@GhostofKaiser 29 күн бұрын
I found the conversation (it really wasn’t an interview, per se) to be quite introspective. As you mentioned, Kendrick is very much at peace with whom he is and stands out with his messaging in his bars. “I love peace, but war ready…” He repeats it to SZA (and shoutout to her as well for opening up about some of her own vulnerabilities). I’d hope and like to see more “interviews” like this, because it gives a better glimpse of the real person behind the art, not just the corporate packaging. Shoutout to you as well, Knox, for all you do. You break things down, no matter the genre, better than anybody on this platform.

Firstly I love your videos, they give me insight to artists I may not have found otherwise. This video gave me a chance to think about artists that are impactful in the way Kendrick is. I am almost 50 and have always been deeply impacted by music. My mom having Fleetwood Mac on and explaining the Rumors album to me made me appreciate the creative genius and strength in Stevie Nicks. In HS I was able to consider how deeply heartbreaking it must be to have a single mother who is an addict, but how unconditional love is not a weakness from Tupac coming across my top 5 and 9 radio show. I remember the undeniable confrontation of Madonna singing Pappa Don’t Preach and Sinéad O'Connor ripping a photo of the Pope mid-song moving my soul when I didn’t even understand what I was seeing. That same level of knowing you’re getting access to something deeply creative and authentic happens with both Kendrick and Taylor Swift now. We are experiencing in real time something that stays, something that is connecting with so many people, and damn that’s powerful.

Thanks for mature, sophisticated, nuanced commentary on this interview. Thanks for meeting the dignity and complexity of KLD with a dignified and complex analysis. In a world in which too many are addicted to embarrassing, low-value, low-vibrational takes on all aspects of culture, you shine a light on thoughtfulness and intellectual generosity. Kendrick and hip-hop deserve that. Thanks.

Factually, Kendrick will always be a far bigger man than Drake can ever hope to be, in really just everything. No matter the amount of people disagreeing with that, it's an undying and unchanging fact. Kendrick not just wins this beef with how he bodied Drake but also, as a man, just completely, he easily wins against Drake in every way. Drake lost not just the battle but also the war. Edit : Cope, seethe and mald, Drake bots 😂. You people need to learn to take the L eventually.

My favorite track out of the disstracks released is 616 in LA. All of his answers on that interview channels “I’m sorry i lived a boring life, i love peace, but war ready if the world is ready to see you bleed” type of energy. If that’s not the sign he’s gonna peel Drake layer by layer if he wanted to take this further, i don’t know what is.

I get where Kendrick is coming from on the first quote. I don't understand people who don't want to know everything. It baffles me. And I feel like if this interview foreshadows his next album in anyway it’s gonna be soft and introspective and nothing at all like NLU the song but NLU as the philosophy he gave. Plus he was still trolling a little with the answer. It had the same sentiments as the Untitled song with the Black Air Forces

Kdot out here having people vibe out to his songs, with the beef in thought or not, and meanwhile Drake over there looking exactly like, as Kdot himself mentioned, one of "2 bad bitches". Drake is just hard leaning into that and its just hella depressing to see his fanboys constantly dick ride him without any end in sight.

Personally, coming to terms with my death could be at any moment in my single digits, has made me want to learn as much as I can and do as much with it to make that reality less daunting for future people I will never know. My life’s purpose in fulfilled everyday by being open to continuously learning and sharing. (I am an atheist. I think we let all the labels of “what” we are get in our own way too often. The superficial, the image without consideration of character. It’s all about the person you are in the world, not did I check all the boxes. It’s living with a purpose that you can die knowing you achieved. I personally find trying to do my best to make the future happen a little less chaotic than I had an honor that needs no glorification or reward, because everyone who is yet to come will get it. Which is the greater good: my self satisfaction or paying it forward….. or all of the above 😉)

Since Knox mentions the warrior monk vibes, I'll mention that Kendrick's ascendant at 24°s Libra (sky specific to the moment he was born) on his birth chart has Spica, called the Sage star. That star in particular is associated with guidance, scholars, creatives, intellectuals, wisdom, that sort of thing. When i saw that i was like ha, that checks for him. Drake also has a prominent fixed star on his ascendant as well. Just like Donald Trump, he has Regulus, the King star. Legend has it if you don't stay humble, you lose the star's influence and have a hard fall. I wasn't sure about that part, but it does feel like this old star lore is panning out for both in the end.

Nobody with an unbiassed view thinks Aubrey won. He never really gave himself a chance to win diverting attention to a bunch of other irrelevant people (in this battle between him and Kendrick) Had he soley made songs about his true oponant it would have been closer. The second he starts talking about Rick Ross and all the others after already addressing them on a previous song, he loses. They have NOTHING to do with Kendrick.
@2bchan
@2bchan 22 күн бұрын
It's not bias, it's the illogical logic you & people using to say Kendrick beat Drake. Like Drake addressing everyone helps Drake against kdot, because kdot said he was better man morality wise on Euphoria, so Drake dissed him with others to say & show that kdot who has disliked Drake for a long time, just waited to diss him directly along with other rappers at the same time, not by himself alone as a man on his own time. Edit: He is saying how can you be the better man, when you won't even face Drake alone, Drake facing loads of rappers & people alone.
@TheBeelzboss
@TheBeelzboss 22 күн бұрын

@@TheBeelzboss Not true. Kendrick's 1st time directly dissing Drake was on the song "Like That" with Future & Metro Boomin, not on his own track when no on else was doing it. You can look this up, Future dissed Drake on the album the song is on, Kdot waited to until they, along with Rick Ross, Asap Rocky, & etc dissed Drake to diss him at or all around the same time.

@@TheBeelzboss Kdot has to diss Drake by himself on a track out of no where with no one else doing it for your claim that he Kdot dissed Drake alone to be true. Future & Metro Bommin dissed Drake on & with the album.

That’s a damn good answer, I’ve just been requesting to communicate with like minded people for the most part. And begging to get some time with you

Drake has released an albums worth of singles and features since the beef. Where they at though? Only ‘Not Like Us’ is on the charts.

@@Dragonlungz21 yeah. Its rap beef that start literally after his 2yr tour. 3 songs about Drake for Kendrick and Drake does how many about Kendrick? He still sneak dissing like the feminine man he is. Can’t say it with his breast.

@@blvckreaper462 Current thing Drake is doing is literally proving Kendrick's "two bad bitches" line. Long life battle with yourself is becoming just more and more true and I dunno why some people cannot accept it.

Yo you should really review Aseop Rock. He makes really good lyrical rap. I think you would have a great time breaking down his songs
