We should want to know the God we worship. God's attributes are "the perfections which are predicated of the Divine Being in Scripture, or are visibly exercised by Him in His works of creation, providence, and redemption" (Louis Berkhof, Systematic Theology).
We begin by examining the incommunicable/communicable and absolute/relative classifications as well as the use of analogical language to describe God.
