I had a long stall (about 2 years) where I still needed to drop about 20 pounds. I stayed keto because I didn't want to gain back the 30 pounds I had lost. Then I discovered intermittent fasting and got to goal weight. And the free time I gained not worrying about fixing and eating food is great. Good suggestions all.

Drinking 2-3 cups of hibiscus tea daily will help release water since it has a mild diuretic effect. It also helps to lower blood pressure. And it is pretty cheap. Worth a try to see if it will help break a stall.

I come in here as someone who used to hate working out and now can't pass 2 days without doing it because I can feel my body asking for it. Excersing may come naturally for some people but for others it requires for your body and mind to get used to it, like every other rutine it needs at least 3 months for it to become part of your life, for me it applied the same as when I started keto, I was missing carbs and sugar until my body got use to it and now I feel better on keto than out of keto as I feel better working out. It requires discipline and commitment which might be harder for some than for others but the long term benefits are worth "the punishment" LOL. My tip is to start with something smaill and something you enjoy doing like walking your dogs or doing some dancing at home and the progress from there to something more challenging.

I agree, it can be a pleasant walk, not jogging, even, but if you do it daily it worked better for me than any other exercise. My doctor encouraged me to swim, so I did it for a year, no obvious weight loss, unlike just a walk around the block, my muscles tightened up and I would do it every morning as I got up, then it was over and I felt better all day. Having a dog helps because they will help you start your day.

You really should give Keto a try again. The amount of recipes out there are really tremendous. For example: chaffles I did Keto for a while and lost 80 lbs. I got COVID and gained it all back. I am now back Keto doing Keto and have lost 25lbs again. I am in a stall for 2 weeks and will continue to move forward. For me I have realized I hit stalls around every 25 - 30 lbs. So the 260s and then then the 230s. The advice here is really good to help break them. Especially the exercise and food restrictions.

Your exercise videos were very entertaining! I saw myself in them, I'm not very coordinated and I'd hate to see what I look like doing my exercises! I used to think a trip to the gym was the best way to get a "real" workout in but it's just not true. I reshaped my body doing exercises at home during "unavoidable delays". That's an idea in the book Cheaper by the Dozen (the original book written by the Gilbreth family), it's when you have to do something that you can't avoid so you make the best of the that time. Example: the dad painted Morse code in their outhouse so the kids could learn it during that unavoidable delay. Foreign language records playing while they were bathing. Anyway, I started doing squats while I brushed my teeth in the morning and would dance while I brushed them at night. Push-ups in the hallway whenever I had to go to the bathroom. Walking around the basement while folding clothes. It makes the exercises seem like not a big deal!

I stalled for 3 years. I kept eating low carb because I didn't want to gain back the weight I lost. How did I move the scale? I found a weight loss podcast. First thing to ask yourself before you eat: "am I hungry?" When you're half way through your meal ask: "Have I had enough?" We mindlessly eat (even keto foods) and don't always think about what we put in our mouth.

I've been on Keto for 7 weeks and am only down 9 pounds. 😭 I lost 2 to 3 pounds per week the last time I did Keto in 2018 with maybe a 2 to 3 week stall here and there along my journey. I lost 40 pounds last time and then stalled for MONTHS. Thats when I threw in the towel and slowly but surely gained it all back. 😭 This time I'm just focusing on my health. Bloodwork doesn't lie and my A1C was down from 7.1 to 6.7, my triglyceride is in the normal range, and lots of other numbers dropped and that was only 5 weeks on Keto! So I just keep reminding myself that though the weight isn't coming off, for whatever reason, my health *IS IMPROVING* and that's great and the MAIN GOAL of doing Keto. I'm off my Metformin and my blood pressure meds. 👏 I feel like the weight loss WILL come eventually. I mean I think it has to eventually start falling off, right? Good luck and hang in there!!

Nutritional yeast does not compare to the real cheese straight after you try to finish eating it. But I have found out that after 2-3 months your taste puds adjust and it does actually taste cheesy. And maybe try to say to yourself that you are just having a break out of cheese...that after 6months you can have it all again.

Love your suggestions, and I'm right there with you on exercise being a 10! But I've often wondered if some stalls aren't just the body's way of saying, "okay, enough changes for a while!" That maybe it just needs to rest at the new weight for a bit before it's ready to let go of more pounds.

I cut out most dairy....I used to drink cream in my coffee then I switched to nutpods, which s REALLY good but EXPENSIVE. So, now I make my own. 1 can coconut cream mixed with 25 calorie creamy cashew milk (unsweetened of course). I make this in a 1/2 gallon jug in keep in my fridge. it's delicious and non dairy. I didn't eliminate cheese completely but I no longer allow myself cheese for a snack....so if I make low carb lasagna (with palmini hearts of palm noodles) I do put cheese on it but I do not snack on cheese at all anymore. it really worked for me....I lost 20 lbs.

I’m pretty physically active & have been for years, but even taking a 20-30 min walk while dry fasted can help move the scale with that water weight. Was recently reading that a 24hr dry fast helps with actually burning fat faster than prolonged fasting. PS. I really like you two. So glad I stumbled upon your page recently! 🙌🏽

Brisk walking while listening to my library's audio books has helped me a lot. it's free, takes as long as I have that day and, after a couple weeks of walking every other day, I do get an energy rush when doing it. It has jump started weight loss a couple times but, for me, the best thing is the toning which is almost as rewarding as a scale loss.

I needed this. I’ve lost 65 lbs over 9 months but now I’m the same weight for 8 weeks. I’m ok with it. Maybe my body needs an adjustment period. Plus I’m working on building muscle so hopefully I’m trading fat weight for muscle weight. I’ve lost a pants size during this plateau and gotten comments on how I look like I’ve lost weight (but I haven’t). The worse thing is going to the doctor who says “you need to lose 20 lbs” and never even considers I’m healthier and stronger than I’ve been in 20 years. Doctors are no help at all. I’d suggest trying light resistance training rather than aerobic if you hate exercise but want to do something healthy for yourself. It’s easier and you can progress slowly and still see benefits. Muscle lose with age is serious and the cause of feebleness. Thanks for you videos and a place to rant. Btw: Whoosh effect is real. ❤️

One thing I have tried to get the scale moving again is to cut my portions in half, or cut one of my two meals back to a snack size. Over time, you can allow your portion size to creep up, or you might not realize that as you get smaller, a smaller portion is appropriate. So it can feel just as satisfying to eat one egg with one piece of keto toast instead of double that, for example. Keep testing what amount of food feels satisfying.

Hello to you both ☺️ May I say right away how much I enjoy your videos! It really helps to hear all about what worked for you or what didn't work. The first time I watched you was with the cottage cheese in the microwave, sprinkling on various flavors, I'm excited to try that one first, I think! I was 235 at my heaviest and am now 177, and it hasnt moved for maybe 5 weeks. I also do I.F. 20:4 I have been very strict healthy keto, keeping well below 20 carbs daily since September 2022. Thank you so much

I basically stalled for over three months. But I honestly did not stress about it like I normally would because I’m happy eating this way. I did, however start taking a daily walk for 10 minutes a day. That is all I can do at the moment because all my joints hurt, especially my hips. But it’s already getting better after two weeks so I’m going to add a few more minutes next week. I tried to cut out dairy in January. I think I lasted two days. I ended up just cutting down. But I still want to eliminate it for a month to see if it helps with my skin issues. Thanks for always being so reasonable. It’s refreshing to have someone reasonable and not shouting at us to do something.

Exercise endorphins are real~ I love that feeling so much, especially because it lasts a long time. Depending on what time of day I work out, after a few hours I find myself wanting to go for a quick walk, or jump on my little manual stepper thing for a minute or two~ which I do every time I walk past it~ not sure what to call it, it's from Gold's Gym & the best $5 I've ever spent at a yard sale=) Love that thing! Anyhow, it's what keeps my lower body toned, & I truly believe it's never too early to start thinking about our future mobility issues~ talk about real & scary life! I don't want to look back & know that I could have kept myself off of a walker or wheelchair, had I just been more diligent w/exercise & strength training. It doesn't take much, & the benefits are huge~ as well as lifelong. I'm 56 now, & have kept up w/minimal to moderate exercise, a few days a week usually, since my 20's~ regardless of weight or pregnancy, etc. It's worth it~ & it's only 20-30 mins out of my day, maybe an hour if I walk as well.

If I haven't shaved a pound @ 24 hrs OMAD, I push it to a 36-48 hr. Alternate Day Fasting. If I still haven't moved the scale, I've pushed it up to 96 hrs. I've averaged 10# / month for 9 months. I've been bouncing around 25% BMI for awhile now. Changing it up, breaks the memory. I'm pushing for another 15% by summer.

Hi, I appreciate your videos. I'm new here I just watched about a dozen of your great videos. I've lost 80 lb and reached my goal on the keto diet, and put about 30 back on and trying to take it back off. Definitely harder the second time around. A couple things I've learned since watching your videos is I need to cut out the heavy whipping cream in the five cups of coffee I have every morning and the MCT oil that I put in it also. Definitely switching from zero carb soda to water as well and going to order some lmnt citrus. Thanks again

You two are SO funny! My best takeaway from this vid is to CHANGE IT UP! I was a slug all winter, eating too many flour/sugar carbs (donuts, cake, muffins) so I ballooned up to, well, FAT. A week ago I began an OMAD carnivore diet; one week today I feel AMAZING! Obviously, my body does well with increased protein and decreased carbs. I am not, however, making a commitment to this diet lifestyle. When I grow tired of only eating meat I will change it up and add back veggies. I have 35 pounds of unwanted fat to lose so I AM foregoing all flour/sugar products until my fat legs can get back into my skinny jeans. Changing it up is the name of the game for me. Thanks so much, Emily and Sarah. I am ordering LMNT from this link to stave off the minor leg cramps I am dealing with. Love your vids! :-)

Thank you for this! All of this has worked for me in the past, so I definitely agree with you on all of this personally, and then I try to find a balance as to what fits my lifestyle and what doesn’t… e.g I do like my weekly glass (or 2 or 3) of Shiraz. I also like having some starchy veggies once or twice a week, which I do when I’ve worked out. What are your thoughts on long term keto and thyroid function? It’s possible I’ve not been impacted coz I don’t stay keto for too long before falling off the wagon. But I’ve been watching Christina Oman who is convinced that long term keto has an impact on thyroid function that then makes it hard to lose weight coz you’re body’s working against you. I know in the past when I’ve felt lack of energy, what worked is a high carb day or week even.. I’ve never put on weight coz I work out hard and I ensure my calories are within maintenance, whether low carb or not.

Since getting re-booted on Keto mid-January I have been focused more on what my body looks like in clothes, ie. inches. I also started going to the gym and every other day and started super slow with 5 minutes on the elliptical and 5 on the treadmill and then 5 arm exercises. I then relax in the hydro massage bed for 10 minutes. I have been adding 1 minute to each exercise each visit. I’m toning up slowly and I’m sticking with it this time. I’m pretending my massage is my reward for working out... Maybe this might work for y’all. I would rather go 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes than kill myself working out one or 2 days on the weekend. 💋🧚🏻‍♀️❤️🇺🇸

Hey ladies! I agree. When I hit my stall first I had to quit being in denial and just accept that it is in fact a stall and I just need to do something about it. So I just adjusted my IF and eating window. I was 16/8 now I am striving for 19/5 and adding light exercise (i. e. walking, cycling, something like that) to see if that makes a difference. I only lost 4 lbs in 6 months with my 16/8 and being "technically keto" as you all call it no snacks and 2 keto meals a day. Oh! and I also kick the added sugar to the curb. I mean, I wasn't just eating snack cakes and cookies it was like some pineapples, mangos, maybe a few bananas stuff like that and I tried to just eat sugary snacks that were low in sugar grams per serving, which I believe I am doing really well with serving sizes, I just felt like the sugar was still holding me back. So I have just kicked the sugar outta here and just use the sugar subs, stevia, swerve, allulose to name the most frequently used I can't do monk fruit had a bad reaction to that one. So since I weight every 3 months and I just started doing this I hope my june weight in will have positive results. Also even though you have reached your goal light exercise may help with maintaining as well as keeping you lubricated while aging. Just something to think about. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve done keto in the past and lost 60# with the need to lose another 100. I got into a stall for months and months. I stayed positive and on track for ages. Then I got disappointed and couldn’t hold onto the positive anymore and slowly I returned to to my former bad eating habits. All that weight has come back with another 50. I’m miserable and although I had found peace and accepted my body the way it was, I’ve lost that and am both embarrassed and disgusted with my body and how I look. YT served up the keto twins in my suggested videos. Persistently for like 3 weeks. I’ve decided to see if I can slide my way into keto again. Probably dirty keto because that’s what I feel I can manage for now. I’m worried about it though. I’ve tried to restart in the past and since my original keto loss I’ve been diagnosed with Sjögren’s, the dry eye and mouth is brutal. Even with medications to encourage tear and saliva production I’m not ‘normal’ so the last time I tried keto I didn’t even make it into ketosis and my eyes were constant sandpaper, the kind where drops don’t help and continuing down that path would cost me my vision. I’ve since replaced all my carpet with wood floors. My eye health improved drastically. So I’m willing to try again. I’ve lost 4 lbs in a week and so far the eyes are hanging in there. I’m not in ketosis for sure. I am making healthier food choices and paying attention to portions. I’ve almost eliminated snacking. I do allow myself to snack on cucumbers or celery. For some reason those taste heavenly right now. That bubble will pop lol Thanks for the channel and content 😁 proud new owner of the dash chaffle maker 🤣

I love your thoughts on this. I also think stalling is the way the body can normalize at the new weight. I agree with most of your suggestions, but honestly, I don't think exercise will move the scale down, but instead will move it up a bit due to gaining muscle. Fat loss is done by eating lower carb, more protein and less fat. Hard to do for sure.
