Today we are checking out the new Mesa Boogie Badlander 25, and pinning it up against it's older sibling the Badlander 100 to see just how different are these two related amps.
I was really surprised by the Badlander 25. It sound extremely close to it's older sibling. The Badlander 25 seemed to be more mid focused. As the Badlander 100 was a tiny bit more scooped, and almost sounded like it had more presence, but not much.
The Faceplate of the Badlander 25 is just about identical besides the lack of the Variac, an Bold modes along with the ability to go down to 10watts for easy clipping. Where the Badlander 100 can go down to 50 watts, and even 20 watts.
The Badlander 25 has an identical back plate besides the lack of the bias switch. so you are stuck with the EL84s, but I think they sound great in this amp!
