Finally a good Badlander review from a person, who plays Rectifiers. This thing has a unique gain/eq interaction, you can't give it to an average Joe and expect a good tone out of it. Sounds great. Way tighter than I'm used to hear from this beast.

I liked Ola's video on it also...it was a very Ola take on it but I like that
@СергейМогутов-ъ4д4 жыл бұрын
@@jasonsapp792 I think this review is way better. Ola don't use Rectifiers, and they are totally different beasts to all Marshall style amps. The EQ is in the middle of gain stages, the sound is very different and the way you change it is also very different. It's just not his thing.

So many people barking about the price... i had the same argument when I was talking to Mesa's mid-west regional sales director during my Mark V purchase & I'll never forget his response. He told me "don't look at it as an amplifier purchase, look at it as an investment in your musical future." I plopped the money down right then & there. These amps are for practicing musicians who at least partially earn a living being musicians. I'm just a small time regional nobody but I knew quality when I heard it. I've never played a Recto that sounded ideal right out of the amp. The 3 channel models of the early 2000s sucked. The late 90s revision G Triple Recto was great if you put a Boss EQ in the loop and cut some of the high fizz and some of the lower-mids. Rectos are okay at best. For metal, the Bogner Uberschall is better.

Hello, I really enjoy watching your videos about Mesa Boogie amps. I played TriAxis/2:90 back in the years and sold it. After having a long straight acoustic playing period, I recently bought a 2x12 combo Roadster, which sounds incredible. 4 channels that give me a wide range of sounds, all usable for me. I love tweaking the sound in Spongy, tube rectification for cleans, breakup sounds and hard rock sound. When it is time to go to the 7 strings world, bold and diode rectification are the best for sure (or at least diode rectification and spongy mode). The Badlander seems to be more user friendly and plug and play (with up to date options as the cab clone). But the Roadster and Roadking are incredible piece for gear. I would enjoy watching a video from you about the RKing and Rster amps. Thank you for the high quality of your work and the analysis. You do a great job. Thanks and take care.

But remember between Ola and Fluff you’ve listened to two guys play mostly down tuned metal riffs. I dig these two guys but also check out Cream City’s video. The player uses more varied settings, different guitars, varied pickup selections and different music styles.
@CarcPazu4 жыл бұрын
My guess is that they both dialed the amp differently. They're two different players, different guitars, pickups, picks, mics, preamps, different rooms, cabs, cables, string sizes, tunings. All this adds up to very different tones. I personally preferred Ola's tone, but I'm all about Death Metal, so I'll always side up with Ola for sound. But Fluff brought something different to the table, I can appreciate that.

Nitpicky comment from personal experience, a huge upgrade over previous versions..... they finally ditched the "impossible to see onstage" knobs and gone to a knob design where you can give the amp a quick glance and know what the story is. When you have a rig with pedals and a previous version.....if something is off....investigation was hampered with that knob design, and onstage, or with a room of other musicians that just want to play....that it is a heaven sent.

Have you found that while monitoring the IR out, you get two signals? I haven’t figured out why but I get a cold, weaker signal that is always coming through my monitors even with monitoring turned off (this is the only sound I can get from the headphone output too), and then with monitoring on I get a nice, full-bodied sound in addition to the other signal, but the full bodied one is the only one that gets recorded…if that makes sense. I’d like to be able to get that full, hotter sound in the headphone out for practicing but I’m not sure it’s possible. It sounds nothing like the recorded IR. Great video btw. Thanks for the effort.
