This song is about how substance abuse turns you into a monster, or brings out the monster in you, which both Em and Juice struggled with. During the chorus Juice saying “blood on the dance floor and Louis V carpet” is still talking about the same thing. Whether it’s a house party or at a club, when you’re using substances they can turn you into a monster. So with “blood on the dance floor and Louis V carpet” he’s talking about a horrible bloody scene in places where drugs are often used, as a metaphor for the destruction that is caused by substance abuse. And parties are often held at night which he also references in other lines of the chorus. At least that’s my take on it. I’m usually not one to read into or closely analyze bars, but I was originally a bit confused when I first heard the chorus of this song so I had to think on it a bit to try to figure out what he’s talking about with those bars.

Amongst its many uses, the word "index" is any alphabetical list of subject matter, like at the beginning of a book. "Index" also means "point". The index of a book "points" you to a particular page for a subject or chapter. It also refers to a pointing instrument, like a stick or a needle on a gauge, or in the print world, a symbol depicting a hand using a forefinger to point out something of interest. Or simply pointing at something, someone, or a direction using one's "pointer finger". The term "index finger" comes from this sense of the word. This is why I always thought it was weird, growing up, how my Dad (and many people since, mostly men) would use their middle finger to point at stuff. Like "Dude, what are you doing?
