Those little house stitch markers are too cute. And they do look like the ones we saw along the train ride! What a joyous week for you, with all that yarn given and then purchases made by you. Himself has a surprisingly good eye for yarn! You've trained him well. I really like that King Cole Forest yarn, but it is definitely more of a DK than an Aran weight. Gorgeous colour range. Thank you for reminding me of it as it is the perfect yarn to use for a granny stitch Hawaiian shirt style I really want to make.

Hi Muireann - it can work either way - sometimes I spot a pattern and then see which yarn to use, or other times I'll do a swatch and then look for a pattern with the same gauge. I like to mix it up.😉 Take good care xx
