Hi Lesley. I used the forest yarn when i made the emotional support chicken. It’s not bad to knit with. Awe Heidi wants cwtches with her mum. Luckily she is a nice lap size. 😊 I want to join in on your kal. I have found where people are posting on ravelry BUT i can’t for the life of me see how i post 😖🤷‍♀️. Help if you can plzzzz xx

Chebas made me consider the 200 Crochet sqares book. Now you might be pushing me to do it. I wonder how much yarn each takes and will it work for an advent project?

Hiya. I have just finished one of the more "yarn hungry" squares (dense stitch fabric and bobbles) and it took just under 40 yards of yarn. Assuming it's a 20g mini, then you should be fine for two blocks, and more if you make the lacy blocks. Hope that helps xx

Love your "cape"! It will be so useful! I've already used my Courie In multiple times even though I finished it in late Spring! Really love the sweater from the marled yarn you plied. You've got me thinking about some yarn I have. I'm happy to be thinking about knitting. 😊

Couldn’t agree with you more about the football! I hate the way all the television schedules have been massacred! Well Lesley I am that numpty knitting a lacy 4 ply blanket! I don’t know what came over me really, but I’m plodding on with it (and actually enjoying it which is the main thing!) Loved your story of the pall bearer! A pork pie gift was inspired! Take care and extra tickle for Miss Heidi please x

Hi Lesley, I understand what you mean about you new blanket. Plus, and I am sorry to all my fellow knitters, crochet makes some beautiful pattern, that I am more drawn to crocheting a blanket! Of course, my own opinion. Two nights out in one week, Lesley, your galavanting will get you a name! 😂😂. Sorry that was my Nanna English coming out. Also my word thingy here on my kindle, didn't know the word galavanting!! Is that just a British word. You know it right? Keep the retiring colleague away from the desserts at least until you have been. Favourite part of any buffet, pronounced with the T in his honour. I've started a new project this week. Got Mums 93rd Birthday on the 14th July, so decided to make her shawl/capelet. Being very brave, as I couldn't find a pattern I liked or fancied making, so doing it free style. Not the best, but it looks fine and I know Mum will use it. Have fun with your friends and ignore the football. I don't get it either. xxJane 🐑🌼

Thanks for the shout out Lesley. The poncho almost qualifies for 2 entries but what a brilliant way to use up all that yarn. I made a shorter poncho last winter and wore it so much I definitely need to make another one, maybe even crochet one 🤔 I have some Forest Aran too and a couple of viewers suggested that knitted on a traditional aran it grew a lot and they had treated it more like a DK and it behaved better and didn't stretch as much. Take care xx

Ooh = good to know - many thanks. I shall look for DK (or, at the outside, Worsted) patterns for the Forest Aran yarn. Hope you are well and enjoy planning your next poncho. Crochet certainly wins for speed and easy of trying on. Take care xx

Thank you for another great podcast! I love the poncho/cape. It looks fantastic on you. I especially like how the varigated color at the bottom kind of looks like a lace border from a distance. I live in a part of the world that also has a "North Berwick," but we pronounce it burr-wick. I'm hoping to visit your part of the world someday and will have to rember it's different there so I don't make a fool of myself. (We're heathens. We also have a "Calais" that is pronounced cal-ess. 😂)
@NotQuiteEnoughYarn
@NotQuiteEnoughYarn 5 күн бұрын
Hi. Don't worry - most British people can't do all of the pronunciations - eg Belvoir in Derbyshire should be said as "Beaver in Darbysheer". We haven't got a chance - too many regional variations. Thanks so much and take good care xx

Beautiful makes, I like how the poncho turned out and so clever of you to use the cable cross areas for your button holes. That’s a tip to remember! Forgot to say - it wasn't the cable crosses that became the button holes - it's just the gaps between the long stitches - very useful in crochet xx

Decided to do a scrappy,striped,seed stitch cowl neck sweater from a pattern I love in 70s. Went looking for all the yarn, found 2 unfinished sweaters,one don't need the pattern as in home stretch of last sleeve but none of the 5greens match it. The other is alpaca knit as solid as pea coat and needle is pulled out,was only to arm holes. I searching found the sharpening stone with yarn, jeans of all sizes from last 15 years,3 hooded sweatshirt,2have never seen before,piles of fabric and the summer blankets wanted 4yrs ago. Have decided need only underwear the rest of my life. Is down to 85 at 1930 here and now must clear discoveries from the bed before collapse. The adventures of craft hoard!!
