The show makes more sense when you realize that it is a spin off of Get Smart from the 1960s. Both main characters are performed by Don Adams and Penny replaces 99 as the competent one.

My local BP (Point Lonsdale) has a video store in one of the back rooms and I'm fairly certain its never used but it has really cool artwork from movies like kill bill, the terminator and Hellraiser painted on the wall. Also I watched wind river with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, its a really good film you guys should check out if you haven't already.

Widows was what everyone should've seen in theaters instead of Oceans 8. Better writing, characters, and story. Even a shot as simple as a camera pan from one side of a car hood to the other side is amazing. Big recommendation

The way they structured Inspector Gadget made sense from a goofy Saturday morning cartoon perspective because if Inspector Gadget was competent and knew what was going on, there wouldn't me much conflict in most cases they could come up with. It would also probably only involve him as a competent cyborg detective doesn't need a child and dog to tag along. There would need to be specific situations that made him struggle that weren't just "oh I'll use that other gadget that solves this case". It's possible but it's a totally different kind of show. Because his niece and her dog are the protagonist characters who solve the case, Inspector Gadget is the Scooby Doo of the show. He's there to be a goofy mascot and sometimes accidentally help. The protagonists struggle is finding ways to solve the case, keep themselves and their bumbling cyborg uncle from getting caught, and using their knowledge of his gadgets and personality quirks to trick him or the bad guys into believing he's a super cop. It's an interesting way to tell the story of a character like inspector gadget without just being "look at his cool gadgets he used to win right away"

The way I took the Absolute Point idea was that each person has absolute points as it relates to their lives, and you can't alter something that would prevent you from getting to the point where you go back in time. Rather than absolute points from the perspective of the universe

Yeah, I kinda assumed it was basically to prevent paradoxes, like in the Time Machine movie with Guy Pearce (and I assume the book too, I haven't read it). In this What If episode, Doctor Strange learned the mystic arts and became a wizard because Rachel died, so if she never died then he he'd have never become the Sorcerer Supreme... but if he never became the Sorcerer Supreme then he couldn't go back and save Rachel.

Maybe I'm wrong but my interpretation of an "absolute point" is something that HAS to happen in order to make that specific instance of time travel possible, otherwise a paradox would occur. For example, something had to happen at that moment to ensure that Strangewould be set on the path to ultimately time travel, whether it was Christine dying or Strange destroying his hands. Another possible example would be Antman trying to go back in time and murder the rat that freed him from the quantum realm. The rat would always somehow be saved because it's role is required to make Antman time travel possible.

In the introductory scene of current day Shang Shi in the background there is a poster for "Kung Fu Hustle". Later in the film, the legendary actor/stuntman/ martial artist Yen Wah; who play the one of the landlords in KFH, appears as the Archery teacher later in Shang Shi.

You need to go ahead a watch Shang Chi in theatres and talk about it right now. Don't make us wait. The action in this is surprisingly great for an MCU film. The characters are mostly okay, the film sets up some big things for future films. Bree Larson has a new personality in the post credits. You should watch it now and tell us what you think of it all.

The writers of Inspector Gadget understood kid's naïve sense of justice would be upset by the Penny/Brain/Gadget dynamic, especially because it involved an adult taking credit for a kid's work. They counted on it make Penny relatable. Gadget was Baby's Day Outing it while the overlooked kid was really the true hero. The gadgets and Don Adams always killer competently idiotic performance were always the icing on the cake. Badass Penny with her trusty canine companion that together could handle anything with teamwork and communication... that's the real meat of the show. The real message is: Your parents are idiots, and only you actually know what's up and are secretly fixing everything even though you will never get the credit you deserve. No wonder that show did so fucking well.

On the topic of “race swapping” the Rocketeer... it’s a good retcon, cause the Tuskegee would maybe be doing secret missions with the Rocket pack in WWII. This would decrease the amount and prevalence of CGI de-aging they’d need to do. Limit it to Terry O’Quinn who can make end of movie type cameos as a Howard Hughes, maybe throw in a de-aged Dalton at a scene at like a drive-in movie theater since he was a famous actor in this universe.

Terry O’Quinn and Alan Arkin are necessarily the main connective tissue in any Rocketeer franchise. Billy Campbell could absolutely cameo since he’s the only person to pilot one, but I think narratively and in the interest of having a lean plot, it makes just as much if not more sense to kill him off off screen. WWII is all the explanation anyone would need. Just get right into it with this new Tuskegee Airmen guy... I’d imagine he’s a military test pilot or something. Perhaps there’s of an Isaiah Bradley exploitation/coercion type wrinkle to give the story some grit and some realism. Though with an exceptionally saccharine white-bread franchise like this I’m sure some fans will bristle at being shown anything they perceive as “political” which extends to any showing of diversity or fictional interpretations of controversial historically accurate events.

The Absolute point in time being that in this universe he became doctor strange becuase she died and they hot the tike stone. So if he stopped her from dying he would create a paradox. Thats my theory.

I think the whole "absolute point" thing are moments that can't be altered otherwise they'd create a paradox. For instance if Doctor Strange saved his girlfriend in that reality then he'd never have become Doctor Strange. But if he never becomes Doctor Strange then he never saves his girlfriend. Something like the rat accidentally freeing Ant-Man would probably be an absolute point too... because that event led to the Avengers discovering and using time travel, so if they travelled back in time and tried to stop it from happening then they'd be messing with the very thing that enabled them to go back in the first place... ie, a paradox.

It's the grandfather paradox, wherein you can't change the very thing that led you to the point you're at. Anything CAN be an absolute point, so long as it led to some fundamental part of the timeline. So you can change 99% of the details of the event, but the absolute point can't be changed
