They are not even pretending now. Showing sadness in front of another player who played brilliantly to tie for first.

Showing sadness because of Fabi's candidate chances, not because he didn't get clear first in the tournament, obviously

Why should Fabi pretend? He lost. He doesn't have to be happy about it.

Video title undermines Donchenko's brilliant performance and is extremely unprofessional
@ibgib
@ibgib 11 күн бұрын
Yes this video title and the presentation were a bit shocking to me. I hadn't watched the stream today and thought the same thing. However I watched in context of the live stream, and it's apparent that this was just a combination of two smaller faux pas: Sabina was a little too sympathetic to Fabi and the title maker perhaps a little too tongue-in-cheek for a separate clip. Sabina's new to me as an interviewer but I've enjoyed her overall performance and she'll learn from this IMO. And the title editor perhaps needs to learn when to be tongue-in-cheek and when not to, which tbf is difficult these days since you get punished if you try to make dry content. Overall still a wonderful production team, but indeed a bizarre video here.

@@ibgib little too sympathetic 😂😂😂? she is tearing up bro...moreever both us championship and this tournament were shambolic and very obviously rigged for fabi to win tournment , using a bunch of us players who are in college or inactive and giving useless byes to give fabi easier opps.

I think the title may be an in-joke, reference to something the commentators were laughing about later on in the broadcast .

Why is the title unprofessional? I don't understand? The "not so heartwarming" bit refers to the fact the ceremony (if you can even call it that) was rushed and amateurish, with one of the recipients having.a face like because he's so mad at himself for how he lost. Plus, I think both knew the "ceremony" was premature because the Robson/Can game hadn't concluded.

This is so funny. The underdog player wins unexpectedly and no genuine smiles from the tournament organisers lmao. What a joke.

This was so cringe on the part of the hosts. They seemed pro fabi and were visibly upset. Really awkward for everyone involved.

Why don't you rename the tournament "SLCC's attempt to get Fabi in the Candidates"? And then ban Donchenko for ruining the party, by shockingly trying to win a game of chess.

Doesn't sound like Fabi at all, even this upset; he's upset with himself. More likely Donchenko needed to leave. In any case, it was still wrong to do it prematurely.

Yasser's right; it was premature & just not right. I'm guessing Donchenko needed to leave but they should have waited. Donchenko was very impressive but my heart breaks for Fabi. He was not "Shocked" imo, just disappointed & a bit angry with himself.

The most dissapointing thing is that i Honestly think it is also about Donchenko’s passport… btw the first two WorldChampions in history both german speaking, not to mention all the Openings, theory and some „phrases“ ( make LUFT for the King, Zwischenzug, Zwischenschach, Zugzwang, Gegenspiel…) Germany contributed to the game we all love…

Fabi should take a course on how to handle stress. It makes sense that he looks calm on the outside but inside he is very stressed during crucial moment throughout his plays. Hence why he always crumble under pressure. Whenever he wear that heartrate monitor, its always above 150.
