Hi Nicki and Carlos, in the State of Maryland we had up to 80 and now it has dropped down to low 40s. We have bright sun in the mornings but we start getting clouds later. What Carlos did getting into the cold water of the pool is really scary. When I lived in Key West Fl. We had the coldest winter in 1976 my firstyear. The water mostly crystal clear that year the water turned dark brown and I jumped in and took my breath away was so cold and I'm sure he felt it temperature that is . May I ask , wouldn't time be that if you get another house earlier when you are both more fit you would have the more body power to do more work?

Carlo is a really determined and "cool" man. That was a tuff job he did. It feels like it was just a few weeks ago we all saw Elisabeth so sweet and emotional ending the boatseason. And here they are starting their business up again. I hope they will have a beautiful and happy season, even if it started off a bit rainy.

I know it's a lot of water but my first thought was instead of giving Carlo a heart attack with the shock to his body why not just let the water drain out of the pool, wait a week or two and then patch it up while dry and be certain that the patch job stays good versus him flailing around because he can't stay submerged trying to press this patch on!

I admit, sometimes I can be a little dramatic, however it would have been a big waste of water to empty the pool, and then wouldn't it have been so much fun!😁😅💕😘

@@NickiPositano Hey Nicki, as a pool owner for many many yrs, I want to share some good info with you guys…You made the right choice to not empty your pool. When you empty, it takes all the pressure of the weight of the water off of the seams of the liner, and the seams can separate, especially if you walk on it after it’s emptied. Then your liner is ruined. We were told by the professionals to never empty down to less than a foot. We had a neighbor who emptied theirs one summer and the center seam came apart and they had to replace the whole liner….🥴and replacements are not cheap, not to mention all the chemicals you could loose… hope this helps… ❤️❤️

But it was obvious it was difficult for you to stay submerged trying to press the patch on. Anyway, hope your fix has held and you don't have to do it again. I can not believe Elizabeth is now putting up het stall again, I remember at the end of last summer how it made us feel so sad that the season had ended, had me nearly in tears and seeing how unhappy Elizabeth was and now the season is starting again. Holly is such a lovely dog and was wanting to play with you too. Those views on that property where it was so foggy and the drone shot was fantastic. Today is my birthday! 70 years young. I am jealous of your unending ability to climb your stairs. Carlo, you are an inspiration for your volunteering to clear paths left unattended. My wife and I were all ready to spend a month between England and Italy when COVID dropped. Bugger! Since we have had medical issues stop us. We may have it all cleared up and get on the plane. We have been watching for years. We feel we know you all and have enjoyed every minute of your excellent work. Than you. We intend to come to Positano yet and take rides to Capri and up and down the Amalfi Coast. Carlo, I made my money being an entrepreneur. Just an FYI. I cannot find the Italian style Hoe here in California. The pointed or square blade would sell like crazy. I used them on my Italian friends Farms 55 years ago in Michigan. Export them!

@Aria G. We live in North California because the weather is heavily here. I have never been to another State with this kind of great weather. Winter doesn't last long hear. Summers doesn't last long. Spring and fall weather are like little drops of love coming down from heaven. Plus I've been a nurse for 33 years. Best place to work as a nurse or caregiver is in N California. I love the organic lifestyle that people like hear. I do miss the people in Texas. I still love Texas. But California is my permanent home. I was born in Cal. and my parents took me to Texas at 3 days old. So I'm happy to be back to my birth place. Praise God for Sunny California weather.

I so enjoy your videos. There are many abandoned villages here in Spain, so magical and so sad. The first time I walked into one was because I was lost. The pots were still in the fireplaces. Shoes lined up by the door, handmade wool winders in the lofts, school books in the empty school. A bubbling spring with icy cold water, wild hops climbing the church, a mulberry tree, watercress. I spent many times there alone or with friends. Everyone had left to live in the new apartments in Zaragoza.

It is now the 27/05/24 and I only (sadly) discovered your blog only recently. I am catching up and leaving the chores aside as the weather here is the same as in your post. I so enjoy your adventures, your walks, and both your 'joie de vivre'. I don't seem to watch the episodes in order, but it does not really matter as the content is always delightful. Another great visit to Positano. I loved Carlo’s guided tour of the old stone house. Thoughts of people fixing a meal over a wood fireplace, tending their animals and dipping water from that well. It made me tear up. I was saddened when you showed the overgrown gardens. My minds eye could see an aged couple, bent over and weathered picking their daily vegetables. Very humbling. Thank you.

Nikki, poor Carlos… I have to say that I felt sorry for him, because he had to go inside of the pool in such cold conditions… I hope it got fixed! Wowww!!! 'The vlog of the fog' Despite the rains the weather you took us on the walk through the old house the drone view after the fog view was spectacular.❤ We had hailstorms too last week now the mangoes will be affected. Enjoyed Rosie and Leni's enthusiasm in setting up the bluestar booth.Pole vaulting adventure activity could have been an add on. Carlo's cold dip in the pool was brave of him indeed hope the problem is solved ,it was great how you spotted it in one look!

Here on Vancouver Island, West coast of Canada, it has been cold, wet, miserable too. Spring flowers are blooming (late) but who wants to be out and about to admire spring renewal. Good for you Nicki and Carlo for getting out!

I am convinced Mother Nature is off her meds everywhere. We went from 10C to 25C to 7C all in a week here in Toronto. Love when you go for your walks and this time even with the fog you gave us some wonderful views. I felt for Carlo having to go for his polar bear dip to repair the pool liner but he will be happy he did it when he stops losing water and when he can enjoy the pool in the hot weather. Can't wait for next Sunday - have a great week.

Love your story telling and adventures. My cousins live in Rome and Foligno Umbria region. I’ve spent a week in Lucca at a yoga retreat years ago. Beautiful country ❤ I’m a retired makeup artist in beauty industry plus film and tv. So I enjoy your weddings and photo shoots. I don’t think I could carry makeup bag and hike up hills like you.
