This piece feels so storied. Like it's already had a bunch of lives. The legs off and then on, the handles changed, holding a server... It's also very cool seeing how different hobbies/crafts MacGyver things (eg the dental floss) to do whatever needs to be done.

I am not a wood worker, but I am a quilter. In the quilting world there is a much loved expression: "Finished is better than perfect!" Sometimes the finished product is greater than the sum of its parts. I personally think this refurbished cabinet is very lovely, and I would be thrilled to own it. 😊

Steven: your restoration was exceptional on this piece. You were up against a lot of issues and handled them well. As an interior designer, I was sorry that that hardware piece went missing. (Although I do understand how that happens.) This piece can fit into many types of rooms and can be very functional besides looking really good. Super! Carol from California

Looks great! It was a yucky mess prior. I like the tan color you put on the bottom rail and the top of the drawers. I think it looked really great with the blonde outside finish ....so much so that it would look great in the interior and could be used as a bar or liquor cabinet. Just a thought. My dad had made a coffee table with blonde wood in high school shop,he is 91 now. So I have had it for over 30 years! I don’t really like the blonde so I used multiple stains and oil paint in tans, gray, a kinda teal blue and a fairly darker green and then a white pickling and I still really like it.

I was peeling and preparing apples for apple pie while watching this. We don't spray so I had pieces to cut out and when one looked at the several cups of slices at the end, the clean, crisp neatly cut pieces give one no notion of all the bad, ugly, undesirable bits I carefully and thoughtfully removed or how much the lemon, sugar & cinnamon I will sparingly add to the finished pie contributed. I thought the same of your project when you video ended. It was a real culmination of your effort on many fronts that I'll find useful in my own current (months long--I'm a beginner) furniture project. I really enjoyed this journey you took us on to beautify, correct and slightly-as-possible modify a once-beloved piece of furniture that "deserved" a new beginning. A buyer will love this result or else you've made it easy for another person to personalize or build upon. When you started, it had been given up as trash or for parts. When you finally decided it was at its apex for you, it could then realize a big audience of buyers. I'd call that a success!

Mine are in pretty good condition, really only needed replacement screws because the legs were falling off. There was also minor damage to the veneer along the edges.
