Sunny Beach is NOT really Bulgaria. It used be a snake infested swamp where they brought in 5000 Hedgehogs to devour them before they started concrete rock piling for foundations. It is still at zero metres above sea level and one 'TSUNAMI' in the Black Sea will flood it all. BOZO is an wheat based fermented drink favoured by pregnant women. I discovered it many years ago thinking it was Chocolate Milk - how wrong was I.

It kind of does have a look of chocolate milk, I don’t think I’d miss Sunny Beach if a Tsunami came….though guess it would destroy the other places on the coast too which would not be good

If you are familiar with the legend for Kaliakra cape, it brings lot more significance. This back in the day 14th, 15th century was the last bit of the second Bulgarian empire to feel under Ottoman slavery, and it's said that the Ottomans were transporting by that place 40 young virgin girls for the harems, slaves, Christians, and the bravest of them was called Kaliakra. She jumped of the cliff drag in the rest of the girls to their death after all agreed to do that so that they could die Christian and with honor. It's said that you could still see their blood on the cliffs below...

I just got back and although we had a good holiday ,we wouldn't be returning, for many reasons, not that welcoming, Hardly any friendly service whatsoever. There's beach patrol not letting us out sit on the beach on the sand even though it's directly outside our hotel, they even called the police to kick another poor family off sitting on there towel, it was unbelievable... Many more reasons, litter everywhere in golden sands, absolutely everywhere, tbh was like Bulgarias skegness, Many more reasons, The second week we was at Balchik just up the road, this was a lot better but there still not that equipped for Brits and no we're near as welcoming as spanish

@@ATasteofBulgariaThe problem with boza is that you hardly can get the authentic version anymore. Modern industrially made boza is made with artificial sweeteners instead of sugar and the natural fermentation of the drink is purposefully interrupted to get a longer shelf life. The original boza was made with sugar and had a very short shelf life of about 24-48 hours. By the second or third day the original boza would get sour and its alcohol and carbon dioxide content would increase due to the fermentation bacteria converting the sugar content of the drink into alcohol and carbon dioxide. You can still find some boza made with actual sugar that is close to the original taste of the drink. Look for sugar instead of aspartame or other artificial sweeteners on the label. The brand I can recommend is Harmonica. It is considerably more expensive than the typical boza brands (because the ingredients they use are eco/organic), but it's worth it in this case, if you want to try a taste close to the original drink.

Before watching the video I predict that the thumbnail is boza reaction 😂 Oh no, they were excellent with the boza 😁. I thought it will be the boza and not the ayran 😂 Edit: they are sweet and I am happy they liked it in Bulgaria. I wonder if you told them the legend of Kaliakra. If they liked the place, they would like the legend.
@ATasteofBulgaria

This was also a surprise for Petya…she couldn’t understand why the reaction to Ayran was like that. The thing is with us British is that we are accustomed to the wheat taste of Boza though not in liquid form more as a cereal for breakfast. Yes I did make them aware of the story of the Virgins in Kaliakra

@@ATasteofBulgariaIt is a reference to one of the best crime television series of all time "Breaking Bad" where an American high school science teacher resorts to making illegal drugs in his spare time to deal with the costs of a potentially lethal health problem and provide for his family. Your dad looks a bit like the main character of the show, Walter White (played by the amazing Bryan Cranston), although I any likeness is certainly in appearance only :-).

Of course, you can swim lol, it's the very south of the Black Sea - it is warm mate. Well, at least from end of May till mid September it's approx. between 23° and 27° the water temperature... It's not like in Portugal, for instance, where you literally cannot swim ever... just because the water temperature scarcely go higher than 20° even in summer
