I was on South Padre Island about thirty years ago. My best memory is visiting The Turtle Lady, Ila Loetscher, at her rehab center. It was just the two of us and good conversation. She kissed a sea turtle, and let me pet one of them.

James - I think it’s probably best if they don’t always miss you, because that would mean they’re lonely or bored, and it looks like they are pretty happy! However, the fact you care if they missed you is the most important thing. The other caretakers must be doing a GREAT job!

Yep, I know the feeling. Been away for 6 days. My cows are like, yawn, whats ya name again? Apart from the leader, No 69, the rest just wanted to graze! I think we miss them more than they miss us! ❤😊

LOL... When I get back home, my 5 dawgs go nuts! I mean full on screaming and barking and tromping all over me (the lightest one is 65 pounds, the biggest 145)... but then, after two or three minutes, they all give me the stink-eye and won't even look at me for a day... as if to say, there! Go away again, ya jerk! LOL Guarantee your pack missed you! Happy you had a great time, you deserved a good break!

Wild animals are just bigger versions of our domestic ones. They have attotudes and feelings and boundaries. If you respect them and listen to them they will tell you whats what and youll be safe as long as you follow their ques. In this case your a sibling, a alpha as dad and obviously a trusted pack member so you have more openess with these animals then say a stranger. Dont listen to the haters and dont blame your self for the dumb folks. Got a story youd love to hear. Can u mail you a letter?

U were that close 2 me and I didn't know? I haven't left the house all summer or put on a bathing suit. I don't have sandals or tinny shoes to wear just boots. One pair is 20 yrs old and the other is 15 and the 9ther is 17 and then less than 10. The first 2 ones my steel toes I had to blue the sole back together (2nf ) then the oldest pair is my Docs that I left covered in mud and they cracked but I reconditioned them and they just look worn and thin soled and faded.
