Agreed - but the punchline requires context, specifically the reputation of the SPG (Special Patrol Group).(Hopefully, if you do watch it, Tysheen, that is sufficient clue without spoiling the sketch for you.) I would also recommend the Hi-Fi shop sketch. Search KZbin specifically for the video posted by soundhog09 - "Hi Fi Shop Sketch - complete version" - other versions on KZbin end a few seconds too soon and clip the ending.

Rowan At-kin-son, is an absolute comedy legend, Mr Bean Blackadder, Thin Blue Line, Not the Nine O'clock News, etc etc etc. Go girl!

Not The Nine O'clock News, broadcast from 1979 to 1982 was so huge, when I was a student. The parody songs that they did at the end of every program were epic. We all bought the "Best of..." audio tapes.

Wow...I'm first:). NTNON was a sketch show recorded up to the day of broadcast to make it up-to-date as possible since it satirised the weekly news, often mixing studio recordings with real news footage. Classic sketches include Gerald the Gorilla, The Darts Match & 'I like Trucking' - for that video, Rowan Atkinson really did drive the truck as he's got his HGV licence (Heavy Goods Vehicle). It launched the careers of Rowan Atkinson who went on to be Blackadder & Mr Bean, Pamela Stephenson - now married to Billy Connolly as she met him on this show, and also the (late) Mel Smith & Griff Rhys-Jones who both later paired up for 'Smith & Jones'. It was cult TV viewing back in the day!. Since it satirises the (then) 1979-1982 news, you might find it confusing?. The writers/producers of this show went on to make films like Love Actually & Four Weddings & A Funeral. Enjoy your channel Tysheen, always fun & interesting to see what you make of our culture. Another show which employed the up-to-the last-minute recording was 'Drop the Dead Donkey' which was set in a fictional cable news channel. My favourite gag was the running joke about the unscrupulous reporter Damien who would do anything for a story and his cameraman always ended up - somehow- in hospital, all recorded on camera like the 'found footage' movies of today. Finally, for a future reaction, try the Young Ones. Crazy, anarchic comedy which mixes surrealism with satire & slapstick. Just awesome:)

Tysheen, great video! Not the Nine O'Clock news was brilliant. There were plenty of very funny sketches they did. What was the one were they were singing a song while driving a lorry (Truck) while squashing hedgehogs? 🤣😜 You should try to react to the "Goodies" or "Drop the dead Donkey" both were TV comedies.😀

It's really from my older brothers' generation, but I was often allowed to stay up late and watch. They were sort of rock and roll comedy for a while.
