I think the visuals and the movie clips are out of touch, even insulting to the true meaning of this song. John Denver wrote this song as a tribute to his cherished experience as a country boy and the beauty and love he had for the American country life. Tommy is almost making a mockery of this song with his comical Christmas cowboy hat and his overall mocking redneckish demeanor. John Denver would not be proud. The same would have been said if Tommy chose to do Downeaster Alexa with comical clips and visuals of bumbling fishermen slipping on fish guts and falling overboard, or Ave Maria with visuals and clips of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Tommy's awesome but on this one he dropped the ball.
