@@feellnfroggy Truer words have never been spoken lol. Too many people put a lift, tires and a winch on a newer vehicle and think it will go anywhere! If you don’t know how to drive off-road then you’re getting stuck! I built my first truck when I was 18 and learned very quickly that lesson! I was stuck staring at the trucks I’d copied effortlessly conquering obstacles while I kept getting stuck or needed multiple attempts. I finally asked if I could ride along with an older gentleman and watched him as well as picked his brain and from that day forward I got better and better! Then moved down south and had to learn some of it all over again as the terrain is way different!

Recent viewer. Long-time Toyota 80 series owner. Not licensed but have performed a fair share of friendly recoveries. In all cases, a winch was the deal breaker. Either for myself in terms of deciding if I should go or the recoveree deciding their lack of a winch had left them stranded to begin with. And to this day I still come upon individuals, regardless of the rig, who decided to "send it" without a winch. Just amazed I haven't happened upon a few dead people who "trapped themselves" with no way to self recover and then suffered the consequences of their actions. This isn't an uncommon thing in the rockie mountains - stranded and left to their own devices. Which usually doesn't include a winch, traction boards, extra clothing, fire starter, etc. I've rescued several who had no idea what they faced had I not come along.

Last year I was deep in the backcountry going down a trail I came upon a woman and kid on a polaris ranger panicking and crying. I asked what was the matter apparently her husband was stuck on a Boulder close to the end of the trail with there other kids. A grizzly with cubs was near and they couldn't pull the ranger off the rock. Miles and miles of deep creek crossings trees down and boulders I finally got my f150 back to them came around the corner to see a crew cab ranger sitting up on top of a Boulder with all 4 tires a foot off the ground. How in the hell they got stuck that bad I have no clue. They were as remote as you can get in the lower 48 with no cell service hardly any water in wyoming early summer where the weather can turn and still snow at that elevation. It's amazing the situations people get themselves into.

To any of y'all that are on these videos if you have watched. I have a question Why do you try to take vehicles with stock street tires thru area and mud like this?? Just because you have four wheel drive don't make your vehicle unstoppable. Most stock four wheel drives are only actually 2 wheel drive. The is only 2 wheels spinning unless you have lockers... I love watching these videos too see how far people try to make it with stock vehicles or vehicles they don't know how to use... So thank you for your time and energy for our entertainment and others education...
@hammerT2997 Жыл бұрын
In reality a 4×4 on worn out tires or streets is still better than 4×2. Most 4×4's will have a locker in front and limited slip in back from the factory, if lucky a locker front and back which is best. Most people don't know this, more money than brains scenario lol. I seen some 4×2's with a locker in rear run through some serious shit too though
@seanpaul9164 Жыл бұрын
Obviously, you have not heard of anti-spin and limited slip differentials. When one tire on the rear spins fast enough, the other one kicks in, and they spin at the same time.
