I think "a little overpriced" is an understatement. No touchscreen, old i3 processor, 60hz refresh rate. Samsung rummaged through a bargain bin of last gen tech and slapped a premium price on it. I was stunned when I saw the price.
@kevin123kevin1Ай бұрын
he said it had a intel core 3 not i3
@futureitshereАй бұрын
Yes it is last Gen Intel, but that is the norm for Chrome OS. New Chromebook always gives you last Gen parts
@TheOutsider840Ай бұрын
@@futureitshere sure although historically that disparity was reflected in the price. Not now it seems.

Ignorant. Intel Core 3 is the latest version of that processor, a 2024 processor according to Intel Ark. That's like going into a car dealership and saying "Rav 4 is old", not knowing they're refreshed yearly.

Last year my old Asus was showing its age and bought a Lenovo AMD R5 with 8Gb DDR5 and 512Gb SSD. Not the latest and greatest but at $700 all I needed with backlit keys! The selling point of this laptop (the Chromebook) is in my opinion the screen. So if it does what you need it may be ok.
@FishBeeProductionsАй бұрын
This one does backlit keys, I accidentally said it didn't
@biasedthoughtsАй бұрын
I feel your disappointment. It's like they made all the wrong decisions. I was super excited about the rumors. But there's still no reason for me to leave my pixelbook go. That resolution on a screen that large and 16:9 means split screen productivity is going to be joyless. Watching movies on it would have been great except the speakers are terrible. They made the slimmest chassis they could which meant no touch and a smaller battery.... How is Samsung, so terrible at laptops? Who ever is in charged of that division needs to get fired really quickly.

I wish I would of got to try the pixelbook

I own a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Fire Red from a couple years ago. All aluminum body, touch screen and top-of the line for everything except battery life. New version with the plastic case, no pen, No touch screen. Marine Blue is a Plus. Would be fine for $500 or less. This year Samgung has not made any innovations with Chromebooks or Tablets. Save your cash until they do.
@nivlocnevetsАй бұрын
Yeah, I think I'm going to pass. Like you, I loved my Pro Chromebook. I ended up replacing that with the Pixelbook, Pixelbook Go, Acer 713, Then my current 714, which can be had for around $550 on sale, a much better option in my opinion. I do have the Galaxy 360 Windows laptop, which has a very similar form factor, except it has a touch screen, S-pen input (supports Samsung Notes), an i7, and can be purchased for a couple hundred more. Probably a better deal if you like that design and are in the Samsung ecosystem. Thanks for the video , and good luck with your search.

Goddamn, I don't think I've heard you ever so underwhelmed by a product. Usually you always speak about positive sides of a device, which is okay but even while speaking about the good parts of this chromebook you sounded unimpressed. Honestly, this seems overpriced as far as I know. You should do a bit more research and get something better. Edit: look at the asus CX5601. Its better

Wow...underwhelming as hell. The value just isnt there either. I got myself a windows n100 tablet the other day. 14 inches and 16GB of RAM. It seems quick enough while having enough RAM for my needs. It set me back $400.

Way overpriced! A maximum of £450 to £500 would be about right for this. Bought an Asus CX34 Chromebook Plus last January with yesterday's tech but only paid £250.

"For some reason I had to plug this in to get it started up" No, EVERY single Chromebook requires to be plugged in if it's brand new, from the factory. Been like that since before your last Samsung Chromebook Pro.

Poor information. You said it doesn't have a full screen key, when every Chromebook has that-- For this one, it's shared with the F3 key. Also, you absolutely setup Steam wrong, because I use Steam on my Acer Spin 713, and Lon Seidman showed Steam running natively on this same Chromebook. Do better.
@FishBeeProductionsАй бұрын
I tried F3 key with no luck unfortunately. Steam may work on here eventually, but it was such a pain that I said it wasn't worth the effort. Lon Seidman is awesome! I try to watch his stuff when i can.
