I was 17 and in my room at Seattle children’s hospital when I first saw this video. Was my motivation to help get me thru my hip replacement surgery rehab and finish cancer treatment. This band has been thru so much like I have in my life. Cancer, Steve’s death, rick’s crash. They have a special place in my heart and like singer joe Elliot said if all that couldn’t kill them, 90s grunge had NO F*CKING CHANCE!

My wife and I seen them a few years ago. Someone in the audience hollered out "Wasted" Joe laughed and said "I don't remember those lyrics " then Phil busted into the riff! They ended up doing the song after a couple tries lol!!!

Actually, Def Leppard's response to Nirvana and the grunge take-over was to "go back to basics". They went back to basics and released their last album, which was their worst seller. Nirvana and grunge killed Def Leppard too. There are SO many videos of band members from many 80's hair bands complaining (at the time) how their band is finished because they couldn't compete with grunge. It's nice if Def Leppard is still touring though. They have classic songs for sure! Fond memories.

@@CelticSpiritsCoven Nirvana didn't kill Def Leppard.. Nirvana is dead. And Def Lep is still rocking all over the entire WORLD. And they're not done yet, either, after over 40 years. I understand what you are saying. Grunge killed our movement, in many ways. But Nirvana did not kill Def Lep. Our boys have sustained through everything.

I think aside from Queen, Def Leppard has some of the most unique vocal harmonies in rock history, and that is why their sound just always stands out and is recognizable. Great song, great reaction. Listening to it, I'm a teenager again.

I always love Love Bites, Bringing On The Heartbreak, AND Foolin' as far as Def Leppard goes too!! A couple other songs I have always loved as well are Too Late for Love and Billy's Got A Gun!! Plus I don't know how many times I was listening to Pyromania while I was driving and hearing Stagefright come on and just STAND on the gas pedal!! It is an amazing song to listen too while driving along trying to clear your head too!!

Rock Rock is a great song along with Armageddon it,Photograph, Love bites,Foolin' and more. Plus they didn't turn their backs on Rick Allen when he lost an arm in car accident. He's found a whole new way to keep drumming.

Me too, the first time I saw them in concert was 1981, high and dry tour. I was 16 and than they came back to Green Bay in 1983 for the Pyromania tour, I seen them twice in Vegas. These were my boys from 16-56. I will be seeing them again next July in Milwaukee with Poison, Motley Crue and Joan Jett. It’s been rescheduled twice

I completely forgot that this was the first album to come out after Steve Clark's death. From what I remember at the time, this whole album was basically written and ready to be recorded when he passed, so all the guitar duties fell on Phil Collen. I don't remember the quote, but I seem to remember him describing the recording sessions as very creepy while he was playing what would have been Steve's parts. I can't even imagine... Def Leppard will still be around in 100 years. Mark my words.

When the reception in America wasn't as good as it was in England for this tune, Def Leppard lead Joe Elliot specifically said Americans didn't quite get the lingo. Glad you both did. ;) My fave DL song is still Bringin' On The Heartbreak, and I hope you get to that one, soon. :)

I remember loving this song when it came out and I definitely got the "lingo" it came out in 92 so I'm thinking it had more to do with grunge coming out on the scene. Unfortunately Nirvana came out and there went the great 80's hair nation!😢 Can't stand Nirvana btw

Their drummer Rick Allen only has 1 arm, due to a car accident. The band waited for him to recover and relearn how to play the drums, instead of replacing him. They are awesome!!

This is four DL songs you've done and they've all been great... and you've still barely scratched the surface. For your next one, I suggest "Photograph", "Animal", "Rocket", "Foolin", and "Armageddon It". "Let's Get Rocked" kicked off their 90s stuff, which also included "Make Love Like a Man", "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad", and "Two Steps Behind". All are terrific.

For real. Nobody seems to do the early stuff. This is way better to me. My girl hated Def Leppard. So I put in High N Dry one night and was waiting for her to say turn this off. She instead said who is this. I said its your favorite band ( Sarcastic) she said I don't know who this is. I said its Def Leppard. She argued and said no its not I don't like them they are to mellow. I said thus is early before Pyromainia. Finally she would listen to them. She likes most bands early music. She never liked the over produced music that so many bands get talked into by the label just to make a few more dollars.

Phil Collen played both guitar parts on this song and album, (Adrenaline). Steve Clark had passed away after Hysteria album & tour, and Phil knew Steve's style so well he arranged both parts. By the next album they had a new guitarist, Vivian Campbell (Whitesnake) to join Phil.

The Best Band with a one armed Drummer EVER!!! Amber a little tid bit for you. When they first hit it big and making money, the Drummer bought a Corvette. Sadly he was in a horrible wreck and lost his arm. This bad ass Drummer was gonna give up, so they built him a kit where he could use his foot to play what his arm would play. Not a Def Leppard fan but I am a fan of the Drummer. Takes a badass to do that. Rock on Brothers.

That sound you heard was the sound of Mutt Lange's production. He is an incredible record producer, and you definitely can recognize his signature sound on Def Leppard's albums (High 'n' Dry, Pyromenia Hysteria, and Adrenalize). He's also produced hit records for AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain (who was married to him at the time), and many more.

Def Leppard was one of the first bands that made me a huge fan of the 80s rock music even though I lived through the 50s-70s rock music as well. Their unique sound including Joe Elliott with lead vocals, the guitar magic of Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen and the one armed talent of drummer Rick Allen. Nothing else like it!! I loved getting rocked by this band

I actually got to do security at their concert in Baltimore in 1993 around the time this album came out. I was stationed right by the stage and told them they had a great show afterward when they walked out from under the stage.
