Thanks for the video. I noticed the same thing about the smaller K60s. They remind me of Michelin CrossClimate (car tire). I'm gonna give them a go for my first tire change on my KLR. :+ )

Nice review. I had the bigger size with center strip on a Tiger 800. It almost killed me 2x in 600 miles. Rear and front slid on a wet on ramp first time. Second time just cold pavement made the rear slide out on a mountain curve, throwing me in front of oncoming dump truck. I was able to recover in time to not get hit but took them off immediately. They were rock hard. But I really like the smaller size, especially if u said they are softer. Considering it for my KLR

Thanks for another great video. I highly recommend the MOTOZ TRACTIONATOR ADVENTURE tire front and back. 5500 miles so far front tire has 70% left and rear has 50%. Bought it for CDT . Met and exceeded all expectations of a ADV tire.

Great review. I would recomend taking a look at the Mitas E-07. I have almost 5K on them with the #390 Adventure, mostly road and the rear has held up remarkably well. I rode mud and rocks last weekend, and even with 5K miles on them, they still perform off road. The front is not great when leaning into a turn, however, the rear is quite stable.
@advmatt
@advmatt 2 жыл бұрын
I used the E07 on two different bikes and never really liked them offroad, especially the front tire. That tread design is prone to washing out. My experience with the rear tires it would break off in small chunks in rocky terrain. Road performance was good. Thanks for commenting.

Lots of good reviews on the ADV rider forum for this tyre on a BMW G310gs. I have the Mitas EO7 on my G310gs similar tread to this tire. Only 1200 miles ( combined 700 on road, 500 off road) , they are performing great so far. Time will tell about longevity.

I have used the Mitas E-07 on a few bikes. I found the tread blocks break off in small chunks because the rubber is hard. I hate the front tire tread design for the K60 and the E-07. My experience is those front tires want to wash out really easily. Thanks for commenting.

The compound is what makes the tire feel less desirable leaned over in rain, not upright on the strip. I just wish it wasn’t a square profile. I’d leave on a big trip with that much tread left 😃

Could you do a front tire video next? What didn't you like about the front Scout? The tread design looks pretty close to the rear IMO. I really felt that tire whisker comment, I'm trying so hard to get the last ones on the edge, but IL has too many straight roads!
@advmatt

I don't like the front tire of the K60 scout because the Chevron pattern is missing side lugs, edged rubber. I used a similar tire design in the Mitas E-07 on two different bikes. I found that front tire wanted to wash out really easily. As soon as a put a knobby tire on that problem went away and I wasn't losing the front end. I don't have any video from the front tires so I haven't been able to do a review of them, and I won't use them again.

I just replaced my k60 scouts (10,000miles on them) with mitas E-07 Dakars on my GS adventure ,I don’t like the rear tire with that center strip. the smaller sizes without that center strip would be better off road for sure,they definitely last a long time, my rear tire would easily go another 1,000 miles and the front 3,000, But I will never run them again because of the noise from the front tire ,it is unbearable for the first 5,000 miles .I just have about one hundred miles on my E-07s getting them broken in and I am impressed ,so far hardly any noise just a slight hum.the k60s came off easy and the E-o7 Dakars weren’t hard to mount.
@advmatt

It's good to know the Dakar carcass wasnt too difficult to mount. I had issues with the E07 front tire washing out on me on two different bikes. Probably just my lack of skills. I do like small bike tires. Better prices and tread design. Thanks for commenting.

Sorry, confused. Are you saying you like the E07’s better than the Scouts or you regret putting the E07’s on? I run the Scouts F&R on my GS and love ‘em. They’re also on my G450X and have zero complaints. However, on my GS, it might be better next time around to get 30/70 instead of 50/50 as I don’t hit the dirt as much as the pavement 🥲

@@noahnitikman2436 yes I love the E07 Dakar tires over the scouts I won’t run the scouts anymore the front tire was so loud and just got worse as it wore down ,I did get 10,000 miles out of them when I replaced them with the E07 +Dakar’s .I just replaced my rear tire a couple of weeks ago with 9,200 miles on it with another E07 it would have gone another 1,000 miles but I ride in the rain a lot and wanted to play it safe so I replaced it.the front has plenty of tread left should get 15,000-17,000 on it easily.in my opinion the E07 tires are great and they are not hard to mount no worse than the scouts and they are not all that loud,most of my riding is pavement .

This tread is exactly same tread as mefo super explorer on my africa twin 150/70/18. It has 18 000 km (2seasons) & still will take another year to wear down. Great tire on rear. Front is done. Unfortunately. Mefo super explorer 150 70 18 does not exist anymore. So I bought the 130/80/17 for my xl600r best 50/50. Best front to match I think is Motoz adventure.

This tire is much better offroad, but isn't as good on road as the TKC70. Mileage is about the same. Given the choice between these two, I would choose the K60. Its has better performance across the range of roads.

Wow thats crazy high mileage! I was lucky to get 3,000 miles out of a rear tire on any of my bikes. I guess i was riding too hard. And then again a soft sticky tire won't let you go off a cliff along the coast, and lets you dive into a 10mph hairpin turn safely @60mph. I doubt this tire would do anything close to that. But i could be wrong. Anybody have comments on how this tire sticks to the road?

I ride my KTM 390 Adv on the MABDR and want a new set of tires (front and back). The MABDR is a mix of highway and dirt (with some challenging large gravel sections!). Assuming cost is not an issue which do you now recommend...the Heidenau K60 or another tire? I'm guessing the Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41 won't fit the 390.
@advmatt
@advmatt 2 жыл бұрын
The Bridgestone Ax41 Battleaxe do come in tire sizes that fit the 390 Adv. I have used them. I just installed an AX41 in the front, I already had it with 800 miles on it, and picked up a Metzler Karoo 3 for the rear for $100. I am going to use this combo for the fall. I love the AX41, the rear tire just dosen't last long.
