In this video, Mr Wilbert and I were sent to recover an International Combine that's rear had broken. The combine ran into some trees. The driver was not injury. We lifted the rear of the combine, blocked it up, and used our wheel lift to tow the machine. THEY DIDN'T PLAN ON IT BEING TOWED WHEN THEY BUILT IT. Finding a way to hook up is the main problem on farm equipment. Disconnecting the hydra drive saved his transmission. Goal of job is to recover and transport with no additional damage. I'd say, JOB WELL DONE.......

Good job! Enjoyed the recovery thanks for sharing' Combines have air ride seats because they rarely have any suspension to speak of and are very rough on the steering axles. This injury is actually pretty common in old combines' #Justsayin

As far as combines go, that is lawn tractor size. I would bet on higher productivity from an Amish horse team pulling an old fashioned mechanical and hand loading onto wagons.

I know why Mr. Wilbert specifically noted that it had previously been fixed. It is going to break again, unless it is replaced with a completely new unit under the combine. Don't be too surprised when you have to go out and recover it again, for the exact same reason.

I have seen this happen on several different color combines in the past, and helped recover some of them also. In a pinch providing the spindles and steering aren't completely screwed, you can take a couple chains and binders around the axle and underneath it to form a truss to support it long enough to move it under its own power to somewhere safe to do repairs, or do your hookup for transport. Yes, I miss the farm too...

Pretty common for those axles to break. That's why it was repaired before. At least they have more of a frame to lift and block on.

Well that was some thing we don't see every day being towed, here in th UK it would have to go on a low loader with the wheels off and vehicle escort of 3 or more vehicle because our roads are small compared to over there .
