This was painful to watch. Roland was so fixated on the semantics of "staying out of the government" when it was obvious that King meant he was helping young men to be more autonomous and less DEPENDENT on the government for hand outs. He doesn't yet have a school per so although this is something which his organization is currently in the process of working to raise funds for. His desire and plan is to open a boarding school for boys which is much along the lines of what Umar has been working towards, although Umar has purchased an actual facility at this point, though not yet in operation. If you have more information regarding the progress or fruition of this young man's school now existing or coming further along than what I have noted, please share without giving too much information..

🤦🏾‍♀️ I get what Roland was trying to do..... Roland was trying to show this young man how what he is doing will link him to government but Roland went about it in the wrong way or in too harsh of a manner. The way Roland did it, made it seems as if they were both focused on 2 different things/issues but Roland wanted to show him that eventhough King wants to do for himself by having a private entity, government will still play a part in his private entity. Roland just did that too firmly and made it seems as if he was attacking him which I do not believe was Rolands' intention. This young man on the other hand wanted to only speak about his mission, of helping young Black boys become men by educating and teaching them skills to help keep them out of trouble and he wasn't prepared for a political conversation. There was supposed to be another individual on this talk with King, who right before this interview found out that based on who he worked for he could not appear on Rolands show. So King was left to do this interview on his own answering questions he was not prepared to answer. He however did very well, and I for one pray he succeeds at this and all other missions that aids Black youth, its people and human kind in general, amin.

You get it, but to others his message very well means no government. Many have this way of thinking, and you have to use your words cautiously. My understanding is he wants less dependability on government issued food stamps and accountability for government ran institutions of learning. Therefore, encouraging better education and tradesmen skills to counter this dependability and expose the biases of education provided to the youth. More importantly, providing opportunity to develop needed skills to those caught up in the juvenile criminal justice system and preventing others from having the opportunity to become a victim of this institution, as well, combatting the issue of the “school-to-prison pipeline”; a tool used to devalue, under educate, and marginalize these young kids potential and make them government slaves, i.e., prisoners. This is the point that needs to be explained, but when you state “less government”, it encourages a falsity of “my vote does not matter and I can’t change anything”, which is the point Mr. Rolland was alluding to. All factions are important to uplift our community. Mr. King is doing great work, and this allowed exposure and an opportunity to fine tune his agenda.
