@@NotApplicableJB No, it isn’t difficult at all. The majority of your information pointed directly to the fact that, Papa Strolls, money paved his success. And when it was more even he couldn’t beat a toddler on a tricycle. There have been many drivers that have come from wealthy families. Some have had mediocre careers and many have become world champion. Lance needs to retire so that Felipe Drugovich can get his career going. The team are sitting on an F2 campion so that the most absurd version of nepotism can be witnessed.

That year really paints the picture for Lance f1 career so far. He showed lots of pace in the wet, and had damn good performances that year, but his lows were pretty low, and that’s his kryptonite. First half of 2020 it seemed like Lance broke away from the inconsistency, and was performing within the cars limit week in and week out. After the mugello crash (which wasn’t his fault) on for a podium, it seemed to all fall away. Hope he can find that consistency again, because he’s obviously got it somewhere.

Had a couple of decent rounds, one of which was a chaotic Baku race, that sure he done well to make no mistakes but also his teammate Massa could've won had he not had his car failure. My theory is he doesn’t suite these ground effect cars the same way as the wing cars of pre 2022. His 2020 campaign was his best performing year, with a bunch of standout drives, genuinely faster than checo multiple times that year. People like to say oh he was 50 points off checo, completely forgetting the high points paying positions Lance lost through no fault of his own (like the podium at mugello, or Russia). In a hypothetical scenario where even those 2 results went his way he’d be under 30 points behind checo who had the season of his life. Even 2021 sure in points seb was clear, but Lance was again genuinely faster then seb on multiple occasions that year, who’s a multi world champion. Since then it just hasn’t seemed to work for Lance. Don’t know what he can do to fix it, but I’m hoping he finds it.

Racing is inherently expensive, so the aspect of having a good cash flow into your car and team will keep you competitive. However, Lance is far from untalented, this last season saw him shining through treacherous conditions, extreme rain, extreme heat, broken bones, pit lane starts, and he managed to get to the top 10 behind Oscar Piastri, which is not an easy feat.
@quentinhirschfeld93827 ай бұрын
1) In which treacherous condition did Lance shine in 2023? He crashed in Monaco when the rain arrived, didn't made it to Q3 in Canada while Alonso qualified on the second row, only stayed in front of Alonso in Austria due to team orders, got stuck in Q2 in GB, was 1 second away from Alonso in Belgium. 2) Piastrio, a complete rookie, managed not only to score more points than him, but to nearly matched his teammate (Lando Norris, who's NOW arguably as good as an off-prime Alonso) in terms of pace and race results when he had the upgrades. 3) the Broken wrists excuse is getting old, he had his best performance of the season when his wrists were broken, so...
@LouisSubearth7 ай бұрын
@quentinhirschfeld9382 the later part of the 2023 season saw a lot of successful races for Lance. A lot of people forgot how Lance was fighting his own body to not faint and crash the car in Qatar, although he got a lot of track penalties for it, otherwise he would've been P9. Also, his performance in the USGP, crossed the line 7th but got bumped to 5th because of the Hamilton and Leclerc underbody disqualifications, 5th in the Las Vegas GP, podium Q3 and P5 in Brazil, while defending from Sainz like Alonso did the same to Checo, he has skills, although he's very hit or miss.

Just because your dad buys you the best things doesn't mean you'll win in it like Lance did. On the most even playing field of his junior career (rookie F3) he still outclassed Albon and Russell, even with how tumultuous that season was for him. He finished behind Charles Leclerc in the points, another rookie in F3 that season. Both Rosenqvist and Dennis had a plethora of experience before this season, so it's clear why he didn't beat those two. To me, I think Lance's talent is on par with Russell's when Lance is at 100%. If he isn't focused and mentally right, he's maybe one of the worst drivers on the grid. Basically, Stroll at 100% deserves to be in F1, but Stroll at his worst does not.

Lance Stroll shouldn’t even be here (in F1). Remove his dad from the equation, would he have made it into the Ferrari young driver academy or to F1 when he did. Would he have stayed given his performance. Aston Martin likely would have replaced him a long time ago, but his dad owns the team so

I, personally, can't stand Stroll (daddy or son). But the criticism of him being where he is because of daddy's money is a bit disingenuous. Verstappen's and Sainz's dads were F1 drivers, so they could use their clout to benefit their kids. LeClerc's and Norris's dads were wealthy enough to give their kids everything they needed to be successful. F1 is quite incestuous.
