Thanks, Josh! "Double bogey avoidance" is probably my favorite thing to think about. I try to implement some rules about it (e.g. "don't try to hit a stupid shot immediately after hitting a bad shot"). Appreciate the kind words and hope you go low on Weds!

Not gonna lie, hole 13 looked a little suspicious. After you got lucky over the bunker the ball looked way farther than where you putted from. I’m not saying you could be cheating a few feet, but a far looking shot never ends up closer than what it looks, if anything farther.

@scottcinatl59092 жыл бұрын
When you were trying to hit a fade on that back 9 par 5 you still had a closed stance. Even though your intent was a fade, you would really have to work against your closed stance with your hands and club path to overcome your setup. I am sure if you just adjust that stance to be more open and think fade you would have a nice little cut in your tool box.

On the par 5, it appears your approach to the second shot is to get the ball as close to the green as possible. Golf Sidekick mentions playing it to a full wedge in. Are you not a believer in that approach? Or, as you've stated, since you grew up on pitch and putts, are partial wedge shots not really an issue for you?
@NotAScratchGolfer2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I don't have a hard and fast rule about this. Generally speaking, though, if pulling my longest stick brings trouble into play, I'll opt to lay up to a number instead (a la Sidekick).
@golfislife272 жыл бұрын
hole 3 aimed at bunker, playing a draw or miscue?
@NotAScratchGolfer2 жыл бұрын
Mostly a miscue, I think. I tend to align closed to my target with my irons. With that said, I have been hitting a bit of a pull draw with my irons lately, so I may have been subconsciously aligning for it. Who knows? I'm not good enough to evaluate these things.
@golfislife272 жыл бұрын
@@NotAScratchGolfer Pretty dang good though, haha. Great shooting, from what I'm seeing.. if your chipping was less streaky, you'd easily break par from there.

i feel like when you chunk them like hole 9 2nd shot.. it isnt technique as much as it looks like you speed up or rush you swing a little cause it isnt a full swing... when you rush the swing... it messes up your weight transfer timing.. meaning your weight is still more on the back then the front creatiing your low point more behind the ball.... I COULD BE COMPLETELY WRONG AND IT IS JUST AN EYE TEST.. but maybe something for you yourself to anaylyze your chunk partials and good partials to see if I am actually right... cause if all else is the same and it is just you rushing your swing a tad... maybe cause you think your backswing is to small.. you can always go slightly bigger back swing so that way you dont feel like you have to rush your down swing to get the power you need
@markskipper2199 Жыл бұрын
