He has still a Big shield Because of size, high Priority Attacks that snap away Projectiles and a Counter. Also Hyper Armor on his smash Attack while Winged. He lives extremely long for his weight. I realize while Playing Mewtwo and Rosalina who are the Same weight and Size Class are getting killed way earlier. Most of the Time around 80 Percent from a Read. Sephiroth meanwhile Counters, Prioritizes or Armor through an Attack and living to Percents that exceed some of the Bad Recovery Heavy Weights. He also has no bad Disadvantage and a decent Recovery while having many Options with his Wall Clink and his Winged Extra Jump. He is the Definition of a Defensive Light Weight wich we didn't really had until know.

@@captainmega6310 Sry, for the late awnswer. Your right, in Terms of playstyle. Zelda, Zones with delayed Projectivles and spaces spells. She relighs on a definsive Playstyle, because she is light and also slow. So she must keep her safty att all cost. But she is not defenisve from her stats. She has a reflector, wich helps her Zoning, but she doesnt litterally take hits, like sepiroth. Seph spaces very similar, while litterally abusing defenive combat options, that she doesnt have. So your right, but its not the same kind of defensive!

I picked up sephiroth as a secondary prior to this video and I have a lot of research on him, imo everything in the vid checks out so I believe this will be a wonderful guide for anyone who wants to learn the character. Maybe do an inside my mind episode with sephiroth, that'd be really cool. I greatly appreciate your work, in my eyes it's very well edited and knowledgable. I always thought mewtwo and sephiroth were similar in concept. I'm a mewtwo main as well.

I was playing sephiroth the other day against Pikachu (im bad against pikachus) and his down tilt will literally slide under pikachus neutral b, he was camping right ledge but standing and spamming shocks so I ran up to middle stage and down tilted twice both perfectly sliding under his shocks and forward tilted for the win ♡.♡

15:43 one important note for canceling is that you have to hold the B button in right up until you cancel it. It may sound obvious but there are other characters with projectiles like Sephiroth but those are cancellable even after you just tap the B button.

Basically if you let go of the B button before jumping/shielding you can no longer cancel it.

Heres another two additional mix ups at ledge. 1. FAIR Stick>perfect ledge grab. Basically, if you drop a certain distance below the ledge and then fair stick, when you jump, you will perfectly grab ledge rather than going above it. This is a good mix up if the opponent is expecting you to ledge stick>jump>attack. Usually they'll notice the drop and ledge stick. But will have to guess what your next move is. 2. Drop down, giga flare to upair This one is really good to keep in your pocket. The way it works is by dropping from ledge, you b-reverse giga flare, jump cancel into up air. Because Sephiroths sword is really big, it covers ledge but from underneath. People don't normally expect it to hit because they see you charging giga flare. It's good because for them to punish, they have to hard read by hitting underneath ledge and if they miss, they're getting a full octoslash which could kill them (you'll be facing away from ledge from the b reverse already) *Theory crafting another mix up to the B reverse giga flare one: I wonder if you space the b reverse giga flare so that when you jump cancel, you can stick straight to ledge or stall and do the blade dash to ledge if they try to punish you? Sorry if these are unclear and if I'm not describing them efficiently

Not a glass cannon, cannons don't need his lvl of acuracy to be effective. He's a glass sniper rifle without a scope.

19:58 I want to add that there is something unique about his counter. When he counters a move the opponent stays where he countered them, making it a better counter against fast moves like Marth/Lucinas Up B or other fast moves that are usually too fast for the counter hit to hit. I really love this video. It covers most of the general things about Sephiroth and his playstyle. One thing that bothered me a bit was that the music when you didn´t speak was a little bit too loud for me. I loved it when the Sephiroth theme played but other than that it seemed too loud for me.

After you land from the nair, you have to input the jump AFTER you turn around when you dash away, then you can do the bair. Keep in mind the landing lag of nair cause it could mess up your timing.

Seph’s side b loses most clanking situations and is negative on hit when in close range. Mini Shadow ball beats most things on clank and is positive on hit when in close range. Also side be is hella fast

Bought the dlc. Unlocked 71 characters. IT Won't unlock more. No there's none in the ganes and more section. Wtf. Why won't the dlc characters fucking unlock.
