I want to get these flares but I’ll already have to cut the flare itself for the rear for it to fit with my aftermarket rear bumper
@RoadKing1874 жыл бұрын
Wish this would’ve been time lapsed or filmed better. Would like to see how rear was done
@thetrailchasers4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for sure. This was early on and we were trying to figure out how to do the filming thing. To be honest we're still trying to figure it out. But those are really good suggestions

Are these Grand Cherokees really capable off-road?
@thetrailchasers7 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are, but it really depends on what you want to do with them. Like any Jeep, they are very capable offroad vehicles in stock form. But, they can be modified to meet your needs. They have some pros and cons, just like any vehicle. If you are thinking about buying one, check out Episode 12 of my podcast www.trailchasers.net/podcast

I drove one from Europe. It had a 2.7 CRD diesel engine. It was really nice, very comfortable, but I never really put it in real mud or anything crazy. Loved how comfortable it was though. I'm thinking about getting one.

I have some tire rub on my wj, how much did you trim off the front bumper
@thetrailchasers7 жыл бұрын
seith bahr it was a lot. I used tin snips to cut back the plastic and metal until it stopped rubbing on the tire. I will look to see if I have any pictures of it, but I cut way more than I originally planned.

Trail Chasers I bought a 4 lift 285 70 17s 1.5 wheel spacers not doing any hardcore off-road do I still need to trim a lot? Thanks in advance
@thetrailchasers7 жыл бұрын
josh Rodriguez Probably not. I only had the tire rubbing when I was off roading. Normal street driving and light wheeling was fine. I would say cut as little as possible and see what happens. Just be aware that if the front tire stuffs up in to the wheel well, there is a possibility it will gouge the tire. Try to eliminate any sharp edges on the sheet metal if possible.
@kingrodriguez52077 жыл бұрын
Trail Chasers okay thanks a lot for the info yeah it's going to be street drive and some light off-road yeah I was planning to do some light cutting eliminate damage to the tires

+Trail Chasers Hey nice video's! I have the IRO 4.5' lift on my WJ. I currently run 32' JK take offs. What size tires can you run after instaling these flares?
@masonfever9 жыл бұрын
Jeep wj 99-04
@thetrailchasers9 жыл бұрын
+Colin McCarthy I am running Hankook Dynapro MT's size 285/70R17, which is basically a 33"x11.2" tire. At this size, I had to cut a significant amount of front bumper. I wouldn't go any bigger than 33" tires.
@christospapanagiotou20034 жыл бұрын
Hello jeeplovers... One question are this fender flares bigger than the classic bushwacker ones? As the wj looks huge or it might be the angle
@TireSmokin18 жыл бұрын
Does it have an aftermarket lift kit? If so, How much lift does it have?
@thetrailchasers8 жыл бұрын
@tiresmokin1 Are you asking about my 2001 WJ? If so, it's got a 4.5" Iron Rock lift on it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I just bought, what looks like the same fender flares, but theres no holes to bolt into and i wouldnt even be sure where i could bolt it on to the vehicle anyways. How did you do it?
@thetrailchasers5 жыл бұрын
Look at 1:15 minutes in to the video. We put paint on the studs that are already mounted to the fender and held it up to the vehicle. Then, you have to drill the holes for the studs to go through.
@muhammadayyad93215 жыл бұрын
@@thetrailchasers ok, so let me get this straight, drill holes into the fender, stick the studs through from the back, drill a hole through the fender flare, and top it off with a nut? Id also need to cut out my fender so i can bend those tabs up, right? Saw that in your other video. Thank you for responsing 😊
@thetrailchasers5 жыл бұрын
@@muhammadayyad9321 I am wondering if you have the same fenders as I did. The fenders I bought from Notch Customs had bolts pre-installed on the inside of the fender flare. All we had to do was drill holes through the sheet metal on the vehicle fender and slide the fender flare on to the vehicle. The bolts from the fender flare went through the sheet metal of the vehicle and we installed nuts on the backside to hold them in place. I don't think this sounds like what you have. If the fenders you came with didn't have instructions, maybe check the manufacturer's website for a support line.
@muhammadayyad93215 жыл бұрын
@@thetrailchasers yeah, so it seems mine are different. I bought it off ebay from poland. Didnt come with any bolts or anything, just the flares, no instructions included. But its np, ill figure it out. Thanks anyways 🙂
