There are many ways to make a simple and basic tassel. With this method, there won’t be any short strands to hide and the tied knots will be a bit stronger. Hope you give it a try😊

I just want to say for anyone who may be struggling with the instructions and may not have it exactly like the video, just keep going and it may not be EXACTLY like the video, but you will be pleased with your results if you are patient with yourself and just go slow on your first try. Super helpful! Please correct anything I misunderstood: 1. Loop the yarn around something that's twice as thick as the desired tassel length. 2. Create a loop 5 cm long 3. Tie the loose ends of the loop tightly around the middle of the skein. 4. Fold the skein in half. 5. Thread the sleeve over the loop and down onto the skein. 6. Stop when the desired top know length shows above the sleeve. 7. Measure three times the length of the tassel. 8. Form a loop at one third. 9. Hold the loop on the sleeve. 10. Place the short end near the tassel and wrap the long end 5 times around the tassel. 11. Wrap in a downward motion and pull tightly after each turn. 12. Thread the end of the wrapping thread through the loop you held against the sleeve. 13. Remove the sleeve. 14. Pull on the top strand, so that the knot disappears under the wrapping. 15. The bottom strand should now be about the same length as the tassel. 16. The top strand needs to be threaded through a tapestry needle. 17. Thread the top strand through the top loop and then down in between the wrapping. 18. The top strand should now be about the same length as the rest of the tassel. 19. Pull the top loop through the sleeve again and as far down as possible. Then cut the tassel at the bottom of the sleeve.

Cut 2 of the long pieces first and then cut the rest of the floss in half. Do exactly same way. You will just have shorter strands to work with. May be a bit fiddly…..

Thank you Kathleen. With 3 colours, I would divide up each colour into thirds and arrange nicely before tying up. Check you like the look before doing the wrap around at the top. Have fun!

It’s a tight fit but it works as shown in video. You can always wrap a larger piece of paper if you find too difficult

Hello, this was he most easiest tutorial I found. Im happy with how mine came out, I did it as an attachment for a bookmark that I made for my cousin. I am going to explore with some beads and bead caps, I also need a diffrent embroidery thread as he only one I had was cotton and it doesn't have that pretty subtle shine that floss does. But im inpired nonetheless . Again thanks!
