It requires an above average skillet (even though not really that difficult) and there is a fairly high likelihood it isn't sealed any longer and therefore isn't the same as when you started. Most of the time there is a small amount of damage by the prying tools. The point being it isn't designed to be replaceable. It would have an access cover with a seal that fastens with things like screws that use common tools most people have if it were meant to be replaced. There is absolutely no reason it cannot be design for easy replacement, but it wouldn't look as nice on the back that no-one cares about.

@@court2379 glass backs are a joke anyway as 95% of the time people put a ugly case to protect and thus cover it up anyway. But the point is your phone would not be waterproof or it'll no longer be slim and pocketable if it used screws to clam shut. Back in the early days I loved Samsung galaxy because it took seconds to swap out the battery. But then those phones were not waterproof. And you're right, those didn't need a tool to open up.

What about the resealing? Asurion did not water seal my phone correctly on the previous version and I was told they did their best and did not have the manufacture equipment to make the water seal possible.
