After the demonetisation announcement, we were shocked and checked to see if we have sufficient money for buying essentials for home the next day.. the amount of suffering the general public underwent standing in queue for withdrawing their own hard earned money was colossal.. this nightmare of a time cannot be forgotten by millions of people struggling in the long queue for long hours, the burning tears of the aged and sickly will scald the perpetrators of this "reform" So many died also and I don't believe their families received government help. So many little businesses disappeared Heart breaking to think of those hard times even today😔

well I must say I was very impressed and happy when Modi govt. announced the demonetization debate. I thought it would end or make a severe dent in black money in India. But when I heard or read or saw more than 99% of cash came back into the system it was obvious that demonetization had failed. The govt. allowed few exceptions like purchase of fuel, medicines, payment of hospital bills and purchase train and air tickets and they were necessary and well thought because curbs on those would have paralyzed the economy and put lives at risk but overall even if the process was well thought, it yielded negligible gains in my opinion.
