One thing I really like about you guys, aside from the products obviously, is how you sell them. You could easily be like "study tip: buy our shit", but instead you actually offer useful information and advice, THEN product recommendations. Even on your videos that are just talking up your products, you still sell them in a gentle, friendly way that actually makes me think "hey yeah, that would be useful" or "omg those are so pretty!" Top tier friendly salesmanship, you guys! Keep up the great work, and I'll keep buying!
@victoriavidaud2 жыл бұрын
That’s how you know that 1) they’re a good company, because they aren’t only trying to make a Buck but also genuinely think through how the products can be used and suggested, and 2) that the products are actually good, because they show what you can do with that type of item, and if you like the specific one they’re using, great! If not, you have ideas for how to make do. 👍🏻

Retired college & high-school teacher here. Teachers/Instructors/Professors do not approach their subjects the same way, but please, if there is not a clear outline of learning/testing expectationss, try to find a good moment during the first week or so to suss that out. Expectations should be clear, but too often in college, there is this notion that you should just know it all by the time class ends. Instructors will run the spectrum about expectations and so will the college or university. Work on your notes as soon as possible. My last piece of advice is to try to find others who have taken a class or classes with that person. You could get some great insights. Take advantage of social media...but not while you are trying to take notes. Best of luck😎

My notes in college were atrocious; the only reason I managed to graduate was because I went to my professors' office hours and hung out in the math lab to work with classmates. My number one tip for new students is to use your resources, especially office hours. Freshman year I accidentally signed up for a senior-level history course. I went to the professor's office hours to talk about it, and he was super kind and sympathetic to my error. Rather than dropping the class, I stuck with it, going back to his office or the review sessions he hosted at every opportunity. I would also email him early drafts of my essays for feedback before I turned them in. I managed to pass that class with a B, and it's probably one of the biggest achievements of my college career.

A few things: - First, I'm pretty sure Stephanie is younger than me. SO CALLING YOURSELF AUNTIE IS NOT HELPING (SOBS) - I love these ideas! But it also made me recall that when I finally joined the workforce, the notes etc I took could be thrown out. Maybe a future video on how best to dispose of study papers etc? - Thank you for the bloopers, they gave me life. Ok, onto focus mode!

I had a great pen case with multiple colors of Zebra Sarasa on my desk for note-taking, and my notes were colorful and easy to review ... so much so that classmates often asked me to be their study partner. I had the coolest notes in my cohort. I sure wish those two-part page tags had been out then. Those are OUTSTANDING!

having a designated study space saved my ass last year. every class, bell would ring and my bestie and I would snag the Same Study Room, sit at the Same Tables, put on the Same Music, and do that night's assignments. I got a B in that class ❤

Back in college, I was super insane about color coding. And I used the highlighter so much that I would run out of ink. I wished I learned about these tips and the products.
@XSemperIdem52 жыл бұрын
You don't want endless tiny writing 😅 you guys would not have approved of my note and study style but it worked for me. My tip would be to develop your own shorthand style to avoid writing out longer words and increase the speed of your note taking. It got me through undergrad and grad school. And definitely have a notebook and pen ready to go in case whatever device you are using suddenly fails. Having your Bluetooth keyboard disconnect from your iPad during lecture requires a quick backup plan for note taking. If by high school you haven't figured out what style of note taking and studying works best for you, you will likely have to experiment. For example, flash cards never worked for me and adding a lot of color through highlighting was very distracting.
@xoxoxyx Жыл бұрын
True as I used to do that too... Using short words for longer words.. and I do think too much highlighter color is distracting and lost focus as I ended up drawing instead of studying.

I just purchased a tiny recorder that I could hold in my pencil bag to record the lecture and not inform the instructor i'm recording. If i'm paying $700 for a class i'm taking the lecture home with me so I do well in the course.

Thank you, auntie Steph. Truer words never spoken: YOU CANNOT MULTITASK. I never use highlighter as i think it's too much work and just use pencil to highlight important words. At least using pencil as highlighter if there's mistake you can just erase it.. but using highlighter if do mistake the color just stay there can't be erased. Although there's erasable highlighter but that's not really erasing it like eraser did with a pencil. And printed out the slides.... Actually i prefer to write down the slides again on paper, i dunno but i helps me remembering the content by writing it again... If the slides have too much page, i just write down the important thing so like a summary of it.

I’d say a camera, whether a phone or GoPro, is the most useful. Working in hard classes, it can be hard to catch up, but if you have a video of the class, you don’t have to worry about that. Hope this helps!!!!!!
@molly_in_mke2 жыл бұрын
Or if your professor won't let you for whatever reason... try a voice recorder app. The phone can stay flat on the table as if you're not using it. Then you can go back to the lesson whenever Also if you come to class a little early and there is a diagram drawn out, take a pic right away before its taken down
