The best video I’ve seen in the segment of academic success. Although I think I’m gonna need to watch this a few more times to rightfully understand all the ways of note-taking and decide what’s more effective. Personally, I prefer the “Outline” method. I regularly use this methodology when handing out cliff notes to my ESL learners. I’m also going to check out the website mentioned in this video.

You COULD do Cornell Notes this way, but I want to suggest something from the originator of the notetaking style, Dr. Walter Pauk of Cornell U. Set up the notes as the person in the video describes. During class ONLY take notes on right-hand side. There's a debate as to when you should write your summary (eg, as soon as possible after class or later that day). That same night, BACKTRACK from notes on right to short QUESTIONS on the left like "Causes?" "Impacts" or even slightly longer questions. WHY? This turns your notes into flashcards. You can cover the right side and quiz yourself with questions on the left, peaking at answers when you need to. Do this before bed that day, once the next day, and once before the end of the week (with all your notes from that class).

This is a concept map and not a mind map. It violates nearly every rule of mind mapping and has none of the power of a mind map. Please redo this presentation after learning how to mind map properly.
