I remember the white only signs as a little girl. I never understood the hate. Still don't. Schools were segregated until my freshman year in high school. Never understood that either. Thank you Representative John Lewis. You made change happen, may we follow your example and end this insanity. You truly did represent the people. May you Rest in Peace Forevermore. 🌹 💕

I am a white middle-aged woman from Georgia, I just want to say that our nation has lost a true hero, a man who was in my opinion the greatest living American. His moral and physical courage were a gift to this country. I pray that his soul will rest in peace and that his spirit will continue to bless and guide us.

I just watched one of his speeches on civil rights. Didn't even have color TV in it. Decades upon decades ago. *"We will not be patient."* He said. *This fight for equal rights and equal treatment under the law should have been over by now.* I'm not just saddened, but *sickened* by my country's failure to accomplish it. I look at the news of the White House and see police brutalizing peaceful protesters, just like I see in the old black and white footage. We have to be better than this. *It needs to end. They've been patient enough.*
