@jinger9980 Жыл бұрын
For the illumination: Check all the ground contacts! It is possibel that a contact has been ripped off due to the massive impact. Just check by giving an easy to reach bulb an extra ground contact while it is switched on. If it lights up you have a ground problem in the circut. Good luck and continue the work. It is fun to watch!

I think you are right @jinger9980 a ground for the circuit(s) is likely the culprit

One possibility is once you unscrew a ground it never makes as good contact on reassembly unless it's scraped clear of corrosion.

Greetings from Finland! Regarding the illumination of inner controls and knobs - when the windscreen was replaced where the ambient light sensor plugged and installed correctly? That could affect the lightning, as the car might think that daylight is enough if its installed incorrectly. Was the illumination of dials working correctly before the removal of dash? In the video they doesn's seem to work with the first start with the new battery? I would start the diagnose buy getting to know what guides the illumination of dials, before tearing the dash again... Keep up the good work!

Hi, heads up if you're ever removing tape again from windows bodywork or anything without leaving a mess or pulls. Lift corners and squirt Lighter fluid under it, leave a few mins and everything will lift away nice and easy , if it's stubborn, just add more, it will loosen the glue from any surface including paper plastics, glass and evaporates so no lighter fluid stains or marks whatsoever. It's been a life saver for me many times since a guy told me . Great vids.

As someone that owned a 2004 Td6 for 10 years and now drive a 2011 most of the parts inside and out are really easy to source used at very reasonable prices. New parts are astronomical. The L322 apart from the engine & gearbox are relatively simple to work on yourself and always have a certain rewarding feeling when you get them on the road. Make sure you check if the turbo oil drain mod has been done (main achilles heal on the 3.6). Good luck with the great project.

Awesome effort mate great to watch. You don’t learn about these cars until you get your hands dirty doing fixes like you did. Regarding the dash backlights not working I had the same issue on my Discovery 3 as well as the horn not working - some research later it appeared to be the clock spring on the steering wheel, however when I removed the steering wheel to replace the clock spring there was two broken wires on the steering wheel harness. You will soon turn into a get out of my way I've got a big car kind of guy. And I just had it remapped so its kicking out a shed more power and nearly 400 torques.

Tried replacing the fuse right above the SRS fuse? Try the fuse first since it takes a lot less effort to replace, if that doesn't work THEN try the switch. i found this aswell........ I found fuse 8 was blown. Previous owner had put a 15 amp fuse should be 10. Long story short, it was a short in the red and brown wire that goes from the dimmer rheostat to somewhere in the jumble of wires. I jumpered from the red and orange wire of the dimmer to the red and brown wires of connectors C201 and C222 of the instrument panel cutting out the shorted circuit. I had previously taken the rheostat out because it was shot. It isn't pretty but it works! Now the #8 fuse doesn't blow when I turn on the headlights and my r tail light is good. Hope this saves someone all the trouble I had.
