make sure you have pressure out of the master cylinder. get someone push brake pedal then check pressure/fluid coming out of master cylinder

Yes Nino, a W126! Got one myself with only 85k. Had it 12 years and will never sell it. TBH the car is a goner and will cost more to restore than what it's worth. Sell the wheels & bodykit and break it for parts. I could use a few bits and pieces for mine 😂

Change the oil immediately. I had K-Jet issues on a 1979 242GT and over about a year of tinkering I was unknowingly adding quite a bit of fuel to the crankcase. I sold the car to another enthusiast that decided to rebuild the motor and reported some of the big end bearings showing scoring. Interesting that Mercedes persisted with old K-jet into the 1990's when Volvo replaced it with updated EFI in the early 80's.

It has a steering box. Under dash deep down. Where steering column ends, inside the car. There is a rubber cross coupling. You will help the steering wandering.

Possibly move the car on as a runner to a merc enthusiast and get hold of a volvo estate which you thought was an interesting choice for a suitable pre 2000 car with the volvo estate it will be useful for transporting the family and car spares for your blossoming career

I think you should rebuild it and bring it to perfect condition, this will increase its value and bring the classic back on the road and give it a second life

If someone says Merc in Germany, no one will understand them. The brand is called Mercedes, not Merc. The same applies to Porsche without e. The namesake was Ferdinand Porsche, the designer of the VW Beetle, Tiger P main battle tank, Elefant tank destroyer (Ferdinand).
