STORYLINE:
Notes placed into crevices between the ancient stones of the Western Wall in Jerusalem were removed on Sunday ahead of the Jewish new year festival, Rosh Hashanah.
Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch said the notes were "full of tears."
"Tears of bereaved families, tears of wounded, tears of people who were hurt, people who were evacuated from their homes," he explained.
The notes are cleared out twice a year, before the Jewish new year and ahead of the Passover festival in spring.
According to The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, tens of thousands of notes are cleared during each operation.

Πόσα χαρτιά ξοδεύονται για να ακούσει ο Θεός τα αιτήματα των πιστών..νομίζω πως η προσευχή φτάνει αλλά είναι ένα αρχαίο έθιμο και δεν μου πέφτει λόγος,εγώ πάντως θα καθόμουν στο τοίχος των δακρύων και ότι ζήταγα από το Θείο θα το ζήταγα με τις σκέψεις μου..γιατί σκεφθείτε πως το χαρτί φτιάχνεται από δένδρα και πόσα δένδρα κόβονται για αυτό το έθιμο είναι μία μίνι οικολογική καταστροφή και όπως είπα η προσευχή φθάνει...αλά δε ξέρω αν κάποιος έχει γράμματα και για μερικά σεντς τα πουλάει στους προσκυνητές και ο Ιησούς κάπως έτσι είχε γίνει έξαλλος αφού δεν ήθελε τους εμπόρους στον ναό του Πατέρα του γιατί η θρησκεία έτσι γίνεται μπίζνα και αυτό συμβαίνει σε όλες τις θρησκείες..Ειρήνη και υγεία εύχομαι στον κόσμο
