Stop Discord Server Raids and Nukes! (Wick + Beemo)

Most important rule: Don't have a server where every third guy is a buddy of yours with staff permissions. I require one staff to be online at all times, covering all time zones (for the verbally challenged, I'm not talking about the same guy). That is five people max. Worked so far with 600 online members just fine. Then I was on servers where fourteen people were staff out of 58 online. Entirely unnecessary.

@@hi-kt3qr I'm not getting paid, nobody is getting paid. It's a hobbyist server. It's only a full time job if your community is toxic and needs constant babysitting. All you need to have is a channel with history disabled where users can submit reports of undesirable behavior, which should pop a notification for the currently online staff, who can then act immediately. That is the easiest way I can think of to create moderation without having to use bots. The overuse of bots irritates me to no end...

@@renaelovespugs2530 Bruh discord pays server owners but you need to have comunity public and partner to start getting money but thats really hard since NTTS isnt even a partner cause of your server needs 100 full out conversations a week or else your partnership will be revoked or not accepted

An old server I was in got raided cuz all the staff members left so anyone in the server could just mess around with the server settings since there was no one else with those permissions on a role. I somehow managed to gain ownership of it after a few minutes of cleaning up the random extra channels from the nuking and didn't know it did that 😅

I HIGHLY recommend Hash Bot as well. It's more for brand servers, but you can automatically ban names that match any regex/phrase filter you set.

5:33 Personally I wouldn't do that because the more bots you got the higher the chance the member gets a punishment. I mean Dyno doesn't always catch people spamming but if you got 2 moderation bots maybe the other one will be able to punish that member instead of not punishing that member at all because you got only 1 moderation bot. Learning how to work with Dyno is pretty useful in my opnion. It has many other features than just auto-mod. It makes life way easier such as: giving everyone in the server a specified role instead of giving every member the role manually (just one example of the many examples). 15:39 I personally would NOT disable kick members and ban members for the Admin role. Why you may ask? I'm gonna explain to you: So if you have an Admin role without the ability to ban/kick people it's annoying. Why? Disabling this won't allow you to ban/kick people 1. manually and 2 with other bots. It can happen that Wick is under maintenance so that will mean the bot will be offline. RIP. You can't ban/kick anyone anymore. That's actually the main reason. This sounds like that an Admin can ban everyone without a reason but that's not true. Banning is like the last resort, if people are annoying just give them a time-out or a mute (with reason, punishing people without reason is the worst thing you can do, you can get demoted for that, demoted means: losing your highest role/role that's important for the server such as Admin/Moderator etc.). If they still insist just mute them/time-out them longer. If they still insist kick them and the last option is banning them. Back to the point. So if Wick is offline you can do nothing as an Admin. Only watch how your server gets nuked. So... just don't disable those 2 roles, maybe only Ban if you aren't an experienced person with moderating. I would suggest adding: -Auttaja -Probot -Carl-bot and Dyno for bots who are still one of the best moderation bots of all time. Just in case Wick is offline. Remember to set those bots up, otherwise they won't do anything (watch a tutorial on internet how to set them up). So in short. Don't disable those permissions :) I'm souding like ik everything about moderating with bots but that's not true, I'm just giving an advice and have truthfully much respect for the content NTTS is making. Alright man, I know this is 5 months late💀💀💀💀💀 , but when Wick goes into maintenance, it 99.98% of the time, doesn't go offline. It remains in play. And, disabling those permissions means, if Wick is down, your staff can't do shit, because you're relying on Wick's moderation commands. Again, Ik this is 5 months late, okay?? 😭😭😭😭

I had a school server that got nuked so bad, everything was deleted and everyone (and somehow me the owner) was banned, then according to the other people in the sever multiple of them got mass reported and got banned from discord. Hopefully this will help, thanks :)

how to avoid your server being nuked: 1. Turn off invite perms; also delete any current active invites. (Only you, the owner should give out invites 🙃) 2. Revoke embed, image, and texting perms for every channel-except for one, if need be-for everyone that isn’t staff. 3. Because nobody can really talk, you don’t need staff; and this is good, because staff are people too, and may totally backstab you for no reason. (and who need staff when there’s nothing to moderate? 🙃) 4. Still don’t have trust issues yet? okay, well give someone [active] a staff role, but specify the role’s permissions to only the channel(s) you want moderated, and not server-wide-specifically only the Kick perm, and Manage Messages perm, they don’t need anything else.) 6. That admin role you have? Don’t even give it to your alt-it could totally get hacked-so just delete the role instead. 7. Server has too many people? Prune the server, or just kick everyone that hasn’t spoken in a [little] while, and never ping when you’re about to do this either.

Question so I have Wick in my server and definitely does the work that it needs to but I have a forum section that is about lore and my clan mates can make there own stuff in there. But the thing is when they make a long brick of text so they can explain there neat story, Wick just doesn't let them. I've tried to do certain actions to have Wick stop doing this but it doesn't work. So how do I make Wick not mute or stop people from making bricks of text or multiple texts specifically for forums?

if I understood the video right, it’s basically used as an automatic soft-ban that can punish anyone. if the bot detects suspicious activity/logs from someone, it will strip the person from all of their permissions and quarantine them. if anyone but the owner tries to un-quarantine someone, the bot will give out the same punishment. basically, it’s useful to prevent serious attacks on your server.

In this situation it would only apply for new members. Remember that you need to disable 'View channels' for @everyone then and Enable it for the Verified role ;)
