67 doors have three screw/bolt hinges 68 had four screw/bolt hinges. I really like this build. I have a 67 RS convertible I've had since 1987. So happy I hung on to it.

Danny, you should remove trim around windshield and rear window as rust likes to lurk in these areas

The car that probably had the biggest impact on me as a kid back in the 80"s, was a black 68 camaro. With high rise tunnel ram and gold anodized velocity stacks poking through the hood...

The sub frame connectors will really make a solid car out of it . The handling will be a lot better. These cars have a lot of twist to them , especially if you are going to run big horsepower in them.

I've worked on quite a few F body cars and I think you're doing it right by saving as much original metal as possible. Lots of test fitting will make this a very nice car! Awesome work!

Reasonable option- 350 Muncie 4 speed. More fun- 383 Stroker Tremec 6 speed. So glad you finally found the time and decided to do this build. Been waiting awhile. It will be fun to see it driving down the road.

I’m seeing your vision for this car and it does look good with its new skin. Not usually a big fan of the “ dog dish” hubcaps but they look right on this car. This could be a really nice car and desirable car when finished.

Dang you're the only guy I see out here actually putting together a pretty much rust-free car I mean I see guys on here saying a lot about you know being a hack or whatever but that's a really solid car that's kind of what I like I like to find somebody that just likes to rough them together the grunt work and then they're like well hey you know I'd sell it you know what I'm saying it's so hard for people to come to terms with getting rid of something. Like I say people can't come to terms with aftermarket sheet metal because they have to make it fit that's part of making it fit looks good buddy keep up the good work

I think they call those torque boxes that the spring eye bolts to and those are caged nuts you were referring to... one of my favorite metals to do patching with or make my own panels with is "satin coat" and you can get it in different gauge steel around Wpg.. you can literally throw a piece of it outside and it won't rust...you just need to lightly sand off the coating to weld...i usually buy off-cuts and get some of them bent in sheet metal brake with a 1" 80° or 90° angle...i think full sheets are 4x8 or 10...nice to have a few pieces laying around

I agree with just a SBC and a 4 spd manual. You're right, You never really see just basic driver quality 1st gens anymore. If it were mine, I'd do a 400 sbc, with a hyd roller, and AFR 220’s. Will rip, and still be super driveable.

It was funny when you said it gives you Challenger vibes. Alot of people think that Chevy copied the Challenger body when in fact the 67 Camaro pre-dates the Challenger by 2 years and the Barracuda didn't use that body style until 70. I get it all the time with my 1974 Nova and the Duster even though the 68 Nova body style pre-dates the Duster by 2 years.

It's good to see how excited you are working on the Camaro. My all-time favorite car. In 1980 my first car was a 68 SS/RS 396 4-speed with a 12-volt posi. Had it for 7 years but had to sell it to pay for insurance auction wrecks. I still miss that car. Anyway I'm glad to see you working on the Camaro. Keep the awesome work coming and the excellent videos 👍✌️🇺🇲

Gotta say, you’re going in a great direction with this Camaro. You mentioned a sbc and a 4 speed and that would be a nice driver. I tend to like nice drivers and then make them sorta spunky… Either a 400 sbc with a circle track cam (sounds good and runs like a scalded dog), or a 454-ish with headers and 3” exhaust would really sound good, easy around town, tons o torque.

Enjoying the process like all your cars. Make it a runner, yes lower it. I have a 67 and you can run a pretty big tire, front and rear. If you like it,build something later. Al, cars are getting harder and harder and you have a great start. Keepdoing what your doing. I'm 70 and it helps me to move forward with my stuff...

When it leaves here the mechanical building begins. Then it will return for paint. These are fun cars to build enjoy the journey.

I think it should be a universal car two engines available the 6 cylinder in the Biscayne ran pretty good. And then that 454 can make some mega power with good aluminum heads and upgraded pistons for more compression that is the key to HP. If you ever put a lawn mower engine together you can put a big block Chevy together. That's what it is a lawn mower ×8 a piece of cake.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but a quick way to tell 67 from 68 doors is to count the hinge bolts..68 doors use 4 bolt hinges verses the 3 bolt 67 hinges..carry on!

I have a friend who got a 6 cyl 67 Convertible in a packagedeal. He wanted to put a 454 in it. We convinced him to drive it to a show and had the public decide, well they said keep it original. He did and put the 454 in the 68 hardtop. It gets more attention than the 68.

I’ve had my 67 Camaro for over thirty years, I just rebuilt the hideaway headlights, new motors , limit switches. It cost me almost two grand, that’s with upgraded doors and buckets, the old ones were a little banged up. It’s rust free LA car, it’s been in Canada it’s entire life, Sierra Fawn paint, 350, 4spd. I wish you were closer, I’m in Ontario, I have a ton of parts.👍

I use the rocker panels for my door alignment reference with a car like that . What I do is look for a uniform gap along the rocker and the bottom of the door equal to the rocker corner then i reference the cowl to door at the top and that gives me a hood starting point
