This is also one of the reasons they jumped to being my favorite reactors (and I watch a fair few). Not only do they have fun commentary and analyze things well, but I think this format of having these commentary breaks DURING the show is very helpful. Most reactors either do not have discussion sections or they do them after the show, and when you have to sum up the entire show after the fact, it's easy to not be as thorough or forget things to discuss. Also, as Falmer states, some reactors, especially the ones with more than 2 people, will have a tendency to talk over important scenes or dialogue to help with the editing, and they miss important things. It's also a bit annoying for folks like myself with attention deficit as it can be distracting when I'm trying to focus on both the scene and the reaction to it simultaneously.
@melissavukelic41382 жыл бұрын
I completely agree about pausing the show. S&P are only the 2nd reaction channel I’ve come across that does it. It frustrates me to no end when I watch reactors that have discussions over the dialogue of the show and end up missing important details. 🤬

CLASSIC game of thrones type reveal.
@lemonherb12 жыл бұрын
So there was a scene that was cut from Season 1, shortly after Stillwell chastised Homelander he goes up over the city to crank one out stating he could do anything he wanted. The studio thought that went too far, so they made them cut that scene. By the time Season 2 came around they understood the tone of the show and allowed them to use that footage here. Cindy was always intended to be a red herring. If you look back at the beginning of the season right after Susan Raynor's head was blown, as the Boys were scrambling to leave, they asked "Who do you know can do that???", then right afterwards we cut to Stan Edgar's office watching a news clip on Victoria Neuman, which indirectly answers the Boy's question of the previous scene.

I don't think Stormfront was "nothing" to Homelander. She *definitly* was the second strongest supe after him, and she was insanely durable. However several things : I think when they were 'playing' Homelander didn't go full power on her, but she DID have a resistance to his laser, and second I think Ryan's laser is more powerful than Homelander, because he's his son so the powers kinda got refined ? And he's a natural born superhero, not a lab experiment or someone injected with V. Also the visual effect was much more intense than for HL's laser, the entire screen got blinded. So yeah I think she was resistant to HL's laser to some extent, but that Ryan's is more powerful (and this theory of mine is kinda confirmed by things in season 3 that I won't be stating now to avoid spoilers). Btw I absolutely adore your reactions on the boys, you pick up so many hints it's crazy.

I never realized it during my initial viewing, but during a later reaction I caught a detail that I really liked. In this video it was cut out, but it would have been just before 9:52. When the server is bringing out the tray of Fresca, you can see a stack of napkins get blown over, seemingly out of nowhere. If you listen closely, you can hear A-Train's _whoosh_ in the distance. He was speeding into a position from which he could listen in on the meeting unnoticed. Once it's over, you see him step into view with his new realization about Stormfront, leading right into his Meetup with Hughie and Starlight. This is the kind of shit I love to get out of reactions. During my initial viewing, I'm always excited and engrossed and just a little bit too close to the trees to see the forest, but once I've seen it once through and I can take a step back and watch with fresh eyes, these more subtle details jump out at me and I get a whole new appreciation for these episodes.

On the one hand I’m a bit annoyed at them killing Becca just to serve as a motivation for Butcher and Ryan’s character arcs moving forward. That said I think they handled Becca much better than in the comic where she was basically a plot device, whereas here they give her a personality, and agency/motivations of her own so she actually feels like a character. Found the answer to my question so I deleted it. I feel like such a dunce for not catching it back in Ep 1! TVLINE | I rewatched the congressional hearing scene to look for any clues or hints or to see if Victoria’s eyes changed, and they didn’t. So has she really been the one exploding all the heads this season? Yes, of course, she was. Her eyes were pulsing off-camera. But we tell everyone in Episode 1, if you go back after Raynor’s head explodes and they jumped in the van, Frenchie’s line is like, “Who do you know who can do this?!” and we cut to Victoria. She’s literally introduced with us saying like, “Here she is. This is the one who can do this.” Yeah, she blew up Congress.

I haven't watched season 3 yet, but I'd like to give you a few notes about, why I love this show so much up until this point. It's all about great structuring and working in set ups and pay-offs everywhere, that are BOTH emotional AND logical with very little to nit pick at. Please don't switch off just because I'll mention politics first. The whole Victoria Neuman reveal was so satisfying, especially if you know a couple things about the real world. You should know, that in American politics they are split down right in the middle with almost no middle ground, that the 2 leading parties ever agree on. Despite a little setback Stan Edgar and Vought are still the big winners of this season, because in the end they basically control BOTH sides of the political aisle without them actually realizing it. Remember Susan Raynor saying her last words "It's a f$%&ing coup from the inside" before Neuman exploded her head? Then the viewer is lead to believe, that Stormfront is what Raynor meant: She seems to be anti-Vought, but as Edgar says: "She is very good at making people angry." And now so many people (from the political right wing side) want their product. Vought wins. Meanwhile Victoria Neuman is the popular leader of the liberal anti-hate, more-control-over-corporations campaign. And in the end she is in the position of overwatch and control over supe activities "to keep them in line" and even provides funds to Mallory. The show never mentions the Republicans and the Democrats by name, but in the end Vought wins control over BOTH to maximize their profits. BUUUUUT there is something I wonder for the future: Stormfront's true agenda was to further the Ubermensch ideology, which seems too far even for Stan Edgar. Stan Edgar put Victoria Neuman in position to control the other side. Ok. But I'm sure her name is meant as a hint for something more. Victoria = victory in Latin and Neuman(n) = new (hu)man in German! So her name LITERALLY means "victory of/for the new (hu)man"! Does that simply mean: Yeah, it's a hint, that she's on Vought's side? Or does it even mean, like Stormfront she has an agenda that goes over and above Vought's business interests and follows the same ideology like Stormfront's? Then with Homelander you have a nice personal, psychological arc to follow. After losing/getting rid of Stillwell he's struggling with his inner need to be loved that keeps him at least enough in line, that he doesn't commit mass murder on a nationwide scale. But it's crumbling over this season and we'll have to see what happens next, because there are interesting hints: - Remember the crazy violin that played when Homelander was losing it over Stormfront's social media attack? At the press conference in the finale of this episode, when the camera zooms in on him, you can hear it again. So how close to losing his grip is he? The "violin of losing your mind" only played once for Huey. He is better now. Homelander had it twice in one season. Oh dear. - When first confronted, Stormfront flat out told him: "This constant need to be loved by everyone is kinda pathetic." Still in this season he clings to her and at the end he is held in check by Maeve's blackmail, that "no one will ever love you again". - But how far along is he on the path of not giving any crap what anyone thinks of him? He had Doppelganger imitate Stillwell for him, but then he killed him saying, that he doesn't need anyone. And in the end while jerking off over the world he declares: "I can do whatever I want." - If he ever comes to fully believe that, the whole Earth is in immediate danger of being over. - More of those signs but without words are dripping with blood: 1. He imagines cutting a bloody swath through the protesters that don't love him anymore. 2. He risks being seen having sex with Stormfront in that alley with that poor dude's blood still over them. 3. The final escalation in this season: After killing that squad of Vought that should have taken Ryan, he steps out of the cabin COVERED and dripping with blood. What on Earth did he do to those men when it came to his son, and do you really want to know or even imagine? Remember when Butcher said in the very 1st episode that Homelander is "squeaky clean"? Up until the end, I can't remember seeing him with blood on him no matter how much killing he committed. But over the course of this season that changed. In the end he was covered in it and didn't seem to care. Where will this go in the future? Thank you for your reactions. You're so great this. Let's see what season 3 has in store for us.

aight so heres my take on the "why was ryan able to oneshot stormfront even tho she could take homelanders lasers to the tits and be fine" question: 1) theres no way homelander went full power while lasering someones tits for pleasure but more importantly, 2) in this episode you hear homelander explain to ryan that he can basically activate or control his laser eyes by thinking about someone or something he hates. Now considering how homelander was brought up, I'm sure he found many things and people in life to hate but nothing he ever experienced could've made him as mad as ryan when some Nazi supe bitch is chocking his mother. I feel like there's way higher levels of hate in this moment and thats why his laser was powerful enough to esentially kill another supe, even a strong one.

It's wild that every Marvel show to come out recently (Outside of Daredevil/Punisher) has been imo.. crap. This show is so refreshing. I still love the superhero stuff, but I think people are sick of this perfect hero.. Superman is basically the boring version of Homelander now.

In regards to everyone surviving and coming out okay from Stormfront tossing the car several meters and flipping over, that highlights the key issue with this show that fanboys always jump down my throat about when I point it out. This show is GREAT at storytelling, character development, and creatively infusing modern issues into it's themes. The action direction, however, needs work. A lot of work.

Be prepared for season 3 Spartan, lots of embarrassing content. Pay attention to the acting in season 3 Homelander gets 5 stars as he goes off the rails.

I mean Neuman is strong but at the very best,she can only give homelander a mild concussion,and you will love antony starr's portrayal of homelander in season 3,like his acting is on a whole new level in season 3 and also,you might butcher more than homelander but still love him, especially Spartan because his wish comes true in season 3.

We haven't really seen any evidence her power cannot work on him the same unless there is a scene I'm not remembering
